Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province announced that it will host the "2026 Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Traditional Market Product Exhibition" for three days from October 23 to 25 around the Sokcho Expo Tower area.

This event was prepared to widely promote the outstanding products of traditional markets within the province, open up new sales channels, and inject vitality into traditional markets and local commercial districts through consumption promotion.

A total of 67 companies will participate in the venue, including 35 companies from 9 cities and counties within the province, as well as 32 companies from 10 cities and provinces nationwide, showcasing a variety of products such as regional agricultural and specialty products, processed foods, and household goods. In particular, it is expected to provide tourists and citizens visiting Sokcho with the opportunity to encounter and purchase outstanding products from traditional markets across the country in one place.

Along with this, the event will feature various food sales booths, busking and invited singer performances, and a prize draw to provide abundant sights and entertainment, alongside experience programs for family visitors such as making keyrings and mother-of-pearl crafts, and face painting. Furthermore, the province plans to enhance shopping convenience for visitors through cashback events, QR code payments, and delivery services.

Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province is investing a total of 23.9 billion won this year to strengthen the competitiveness of traditional markets, and plans to continue supporting the sustainable growth of traditional markets through creating pleasant and safe market environments and discovering specialized content linked with local tourism resources.

Kim Moon-ki, Director of the Economic Bureau of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, stated, "We hope that this product exhibition will publicize the excellent products of traditional markets in the province nationwide and serve as an opportunity for merchants to pioneer new sales channels," adding, "We will do our utmost to strengthen competitiveness and support vitalization so that traditional markets can grow into the center of the local economy and tourism."
