The 'Daejeon 0 o'Clock Festival' was first launched in 2022 with the goal of revitalizing the local economy and has established itself as a representative summer festival of Korea over the past two years. The Daejeon Metropolitan City is organizing this contest to further broaden the public's understanding of this year's festival and expand citizen participation.
Anyone can participate in the contest by freely creating a poster on the theme of the '2025 Daejeon 0 o'Clock Festival'. The contest is divided into two categories: 'General Poster' and 'B-grade Poster', and participants can submit a total of two entries, one for each category.
In particular, the 'B-grade Poster' refers to works that express the festival with the unique, humorous, and witty perspective characteristic of B-grade sensibility. It is expected that this contest will widely promote the friendly image of the 'Daejeon 0 o'Clock Festival' through original and creative perspectives. Posters selected as excellent works will be used in various festival promotional materials such as outdoor advertisements and social media in the future.
The city will select grand prize, first prize, and 10 excellent works through a professional and fair judging process and award prizes. Additionally, prizes worth a total of 5 million won will be provided to 220 participants through a lottery.
Detailed information regarding the contest can be found on the official social media and website of Daejeon Metropolitan City and the festival's website.
This year's '2025 Daejeon 0 o'Clock Festival' will be held for nine days from August 8th to 16th, along a 1km stretch of road from Daejeon Station to the former Chungcheongnam-do Provincial Office, and will feature a variety of events in the Jungang-ro area and the old downtown commercial district.
Jeon Il-hong, Director of Culture, Arts and Tourism Bureau of Daejeon Metropolitan City, said, "The 'Daejeon 0 o'Clock Festival' has been and will continue to be a festival that citizens enjoy and create together. We ask for much interest and participation in the poster contest, and we will do our best to make it a festival full of cultural and artistic performances and attractions, and one that injects vitality into the local economy."
