Helsinki, Finland – Italian figure skater Lara Naki Gutmann has captured the attention of the skating world with her unique and daring performance at the 2024-2025 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating in Helsinki. Gutmann, 22, secured second place in the women's short program by incorporating elements from the hit Netflix series, "Squid Game."

Dressed in a black costume adorned with pink lines and iconic shapes from the show, Gutmann's performance was accompanied by the chilling Korean children's game, "Red Light, Green Light," a central element of the series. As the haunting melody played, Gutmann executed a series of moves reminiscent of the show's iconic doll, Young-hee, captivating the audience.

The Italian skater earned a technical score of 36.14 and a program component score of 30.92, totaling 67.06 points, placing her behind Japan's Hana Yoshida.

"The audience clapped from the beginning of my program, giving me a lot of energy," Gutmann said in an interview with Olympic Channel. "It was very motivating and I enjoyed it."

Meanwhile, South Korea's Yun Ah-sun finished in fifth place with a total score of 63.16.

The free skate, where medals will be decided, is scheduled for the early morning of November 17th.

Gutmann's performance has sparked conversation online, with fans praising her creativity and bravery for incorporating such a unique and culturally significant theme into her routine.
