Seoul, South Korea – Korean Air C&D, a leading provider of in-flight services, has been selected as the first-ever recipient of the Quality Excellence Award at the 50th National Quality Management Convention.

The annual convention, organized by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the National Metrology Institute, and the Korea Standards Association, recognizes companies and individuals that have contributed to national economic development through quality innovation and enhanced corporate competitiveness.

Korean Air C&D was highly commended for its internationally recognized quality in in-flight meals and duty-free services, as well as its efforts in establishing service standards for each department and managing customer touchpoints.

As the nation's largest provider of in-flight meals (catering) and duty-free (Duty Free) services, Korean Air C&D supplies meals to 23 global airlines and operates the country's largest in-flight duty-free business. The company prioritizes trust and safety, delivering exceptional in-flight services.

Korean Air C&D was the first in the domestic in-flight meal industry to obtain HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) certification and KOSHA-MS (Occupational Safety and Health Management System) certification. The company has established a rigorous quality management system throughout the entire production and distribution process of in-flight meals, leveraging its extensive experience collaborating with various airlines over the past 50 years to provide high-quality in-flight meals.

In addition, Korean Air C&D has enhanced customer convenience through the complete overhaul of its in-flight duty-free online platform, the launch of the SKY SHOP membership service, and the introduction of personalized product recommendation features. The company aims to deliver a differentiated in-flight experience.

"This recognition as a quality excellence company is the result of the trust and dedication of all our employees, partners, and customers who have worked tirelessly to enhance our services and quality for our passengers," said Choi Duk-jin, CEO of Korean Air C&D. "We will continue to lead the industry by continuously improving our services and innovating to satisfy our customers."
