A shooting occurred near a university in Florida, USA, during a "Homecoming" family invitation event, leaving 11 people with gunshot wounds, including children, Reuters reported on the 25th (local time).

According to the university, the shooting took place late the previous night on Perry Street, near the campus of Florida A&M University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Florida.

In this incident, 11 people sustained gunshot wounds, and 1 person suffered other injuries, bringing the total number of casualties to 12.

Among the injured were six minors, with at least three suffering serious injuries while the remaining nine were reported to be in stable condition.

The daily newspaper New York Post reported that the youngest victim among those with gunshot wounds is 11 years old.

According to the New York Post, just before 8:00 p.m. the previous day, an argument broke out among attendees at the homecoming party, during which two to three individuals engaged in a physical altercation that escalated into a shooting.

Tallahassee Police Chief Lawrence Revell stated, "The fact that children are among the injured is especially heartbreaking."

Police have deployed a violent crimes investigative unit to look into the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
