SHENZHEN, CHINA — World No. 1 An Se-young of South Korea has once again asserted her dominance on the badminton court, securing a commanding victory at the 2025 BWF China Masters. In a stunning display of skill and efficiency, An defeated China’s Han Yue in a mere 33 minutes, earning her second consecutive title at the tournament.

The final match, held on September 21st, saw An Se-young overpower her opponent with a decisive 2-0 (21-11, 21-3) victory. The win not only solidified her place as the top-ranked women's singles player but also extended her head-to-head record against Han Yue to 9 wins and 2 losses.

An’s performance throughout the tournament was nothing short of flawless. Following her recent setbacks, including a loss to her rival Chen Yufei in the semifinals of the Paris 2025 BWF World Championships and a withdrawal due to a knee injury at the China Open in July, An was determined to make a powerful comeback. She showcased her unwavering resolve by not dropping a single game from the opening round to the final, proving her resilience and exceptional form.

The final match against Han Yue was a masterclass in strategic play. An Se-young seized control from the very beginning, setting a relentless pace that Han Yue struggled to match. The first game, though more competitive, still saw An maintain a comfortable lead throughout. However, it was the second game that truly highlighted An’s superiority. With a series of consecutive points, she built an insurmountable lead, at one point making the score 17-1, effectively crushing her opponent's spirit and will to fight.

This victory marks An’s seventh title of the season, adding to her impressive collection of wins at the Malaysia, All England, and Indonesia Opens (Super 1000), as well as the India and Japan Opens (Super 750) and the Orleans Masters (Super 300). Her consistent performance and ability to rebound from adversity demonstrate why she is considered the most formidable player in the world.

An's relentless training and mental fortitude have been key to her success. Known for her all-court game, she combines incredible speed, defensive prowess, and an uncanny ability to anticipate her opponents' shots. Her return to peak form at the China Masters sends a clear message to her rivals: she is more determined than ever to maintain her position at the top.

The badminton world will be watching closely to see if An can carry this momentum into the remainder of the season, with fans eager to witness her continued dominance and future clashes with her top competitors.
