Daejeon Transportation Corporation will operate the 'Kkumssi Themed Train' for the 'Daejeon 0 O'Clock Festival,' held from August 1st to 16th, to heighten the festival atmosphere and actively promote the charm of Daejeon's urban railway travel. In particular, this themed train utilizes Daejeon's mascots, the 'Kkumssi Family,' to introduce major tourist attractions and night view spots around the station areas, thereby strengthening the city brand of 'Daejeon, a City You Want to Stay In.'

Discover Daejeon's Charm with the 'Kkumssi Themed Train'
The Kkumssi Themed Train, operating with two additional cars to the existing train, was unveiled to the public in mid-July and has received a great response. The train's interior is decorated with the Kkumssi Family characters introducing various summer night view spots and major travel destinations in Daejeon's station areas, providing passengers with visual enjoyment and an opportunity to discover Daejeon's hidden charms. This is part of Daejeon Transportation Corporation's efforts to create a synergy effect by linking transportation and tourism in cooperation with Daejeon Tourism Organization.

In particular, the Kkumssi Themed Train goes beyond being a simple means of transportation to function as a tourism content itself. While traveling by train, passengers can naturally access information about Daejeon's representative night view spots such as Expo Science Park, Hanbat Arboretum, and Daedong Sky Park, as well as nearby cultural heritage sites like Solomon Law Park, and major tourist attractions like Euneojeong Culture Street, where they can feel the vibrant atmosphere of the city center. This is expected to encourage visitors to extend their stay in Daejeon and explore more places, ultimately contributing to local economic revitalization.

Adding to the Festival Fun with a Boarding Certification Event
Daejeon Transportation Corporation is holding a 'Kkumssi Themed Train Boarding Certification Event' in conjunction with the train's operation to add more fun to the festival. Participating in the event is very simple. You can immediately participate by scanning the QR code on posters displayed in subway stations or on the Daejeon Transportation Corporation website banner. Winners will be selected through a lottery and receive ice cream mobile gift certificates, providing small joys to citizens and tourists using the urban railway during the festival period. This event is expected to encourage themed train ridership and naturally promote urban railway use.

Strengthening City Competitiveness through Transportation and Tourism Linkage
Yeon Gyu-yang, President of Daejeon Transportation Corporation, stated, "I hope all citizens and tourists using the Kkumssi Themed Train and urban railway during the Daejeon 0 O'Clock Festival period will create cool and enjoyable memories," emphasizing, "We will do our best to make Daejeon a 'city you want to stay in' through various cooperative projects linking transportation and tourism." His remarks show Daejeon Transportation Corporation's commitment to actively contribute to local tourism revitalization and enhance the city's brand image, beyond being a simple transportation operating agency.

In fact, modern urban competitiveness largely depends not only on well-established transportation infrastructure but also on the development of tourism content utilizing it. Daejeon Transportation Corporation's current attempt is a good example showing that the urban railway can transform from a mere means of transportation into a complex space encompassing culture and tourism. It remains to be seen whether the Kkumssi Themed Train will establish itself as a new landmark in Daejeon on the occasion of this 0 O'Clock Festival, contributing to more visitors experiencing Daejeon's charm and extending their stay. Furthermore, such successful cooperative cases are expected to expand into linkage projects with other regions in the future, playing an important role in Daejeon's true leap forward as a tourist city.
