The Bigger and More Beautiful Busungi Unveiled

Busung 2-dong (Dong Mayor Kwon Hee-jeon) of Cheonan City announced on the 21st that the large swan sculpture ‘Busungi’ will be exhibited at Seongseong Lake Park until July.

Busungi is the symbolic character of Busung 2-dong, inspired by the natural monument Mandarin ducks inhabiting Seongseong Lake and the fairy tale ‘The Ugly Duckling.’

The ‘ugly duckling’ Busungi, which gained great popularity last year, has returned to the citizens this year as a swan.

The swan Busungi stands at a height of 10 meters and a width of 8 meters, boasting a more majestic appearance than last year. From 8 PM onwards, internal lighting will be added to create a fantastic atmosphere. The larger and more beautiful Busungi symbolizes the beautiful transformation of Seongseong Lake Park.

Seongseong Lake Park is an eco-friendly ecological park transformed through the Upseong Reservoir ecological restoration project. It has established itself as a representative attraction of Cheonan, home to endangered species such as the gold-spotted pond frog and the narrow-mouthed toad.

Kim Jeong-young, Chairman of the Busung 2-dong Resident Autonomy Committee, said, “We are pleased to promote the charm of Seongseong Lake Park through the Busungi exhibition again this year, following last year’s success. We hope visitors will spend a warm spring and a beautiful summer with Busungi.”

Dong Mayor Kwon Hee-jeon stated, “The grown-up Busungi will further illuminate Seongseong Lake Park. We hope this exhibition will become an unforgettable memory for local residents as well as tourists.”
