PRAGUE, Czech Republic – During the recent State Visit of Mongolian President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa to the Czech Republic, significant strides were made in strengthening bilateral cooperation in labor and social protection. Minister of Family, Labor, and Social Protection of Mongolia, Enkh-Amgalan Luvsantseren, and Czech Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Marian Jurečka, convened to discuss key initiatives aimed at enhancing the welfare of their citizens.
Central to the discussions was Mongolia’s “Human Development Policy,” a cornerstone of the nation’s 2024-2028 Action Program. The ministers exchanged insights on bolstering family-centered social protection policies, implementing dynamic labor market strategies, and leveraging big data for informed policy decisions.
A critical focus was the welfare of the over 14,000 Mongolian citizens currently living and working in the Czech Republic. Both parties committed to improving the implementation of the “Social Protection Agreement,” established in 2023, to ensure better social security for these individuals.
In a move to foster knowledge transfer and economic development, the ministers explored the creation of a cooperation mechanism to provide financial support to Mongolian citizens who acquire valuable technical skills in the Czech Republic. This initiative aims to incentivize their return to Mongolia, contributing to the nation’s technological advancement.
“This meeting marks a significant step forward in our bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of labor and social protection,” stated Minister Enkh-Amgalan Luvsantseren. “We are committed to expanding our cooperation and ensuring the well-being of our citizens.”
The discussions also encompassed collaboration in occupational safety and health research, underscoring the commitment of both nations to creating safe and healthy work environments.
Both sides have agreed to continue working closely to implement these initiatives, paving the way for enhanced cooperation and mutual benefit.
