Amidst the surging interest in scripted audio content in Latin America, anticipation is high as global music streaming platform Spotify joins forces with Argentina's leading production company Cuarzo to present even more captivating audio dramas.

The first result of this collaboration is the Spanish-language thriller podcast 'DIAL'. Created by Charly Wasserman, the writer of 'Número Oculto', 'DIAL' explores the boundaries between reality and the unknown, following the story of Renzo (played by Luciano Rosso), an electrical technician living an ordinary life while trapped in the shadows of the past. One day, Renzo receives an intriguing financial offer for a late-night job repairing an old radio, where he discovers he has been summoned by a secret cult.

Comprising a total of six episodes, the series is currently available exclusively on Spotify and features immersive sound design and high-caliber performances by prominent Argentine actors such as Maite Lanata, Cristina Banegas, Paula Grinszpan, Ariel Pérez de María, and Ernesto Claudio.

Nacho Gil, Head of Podcasts and Marketing for Spotify Latin America, stated, "We are very pleased to strengthen Argentine fiction podcasts through our collaboration with Cuarzo. This close partnership with local creators further solidifies our commitment to providing users with high-quality content by leveraging Argentina's outstanding storytelling capabilities."

This collaboration marks an exciting foray into the audio content realm for Cuarzo, well-known for its popular entertainment programs and TV drama productions. Matías Kuela, Director of Innovation at Cuarzo, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "The partnership with Spotify is an opportunity to produce high-quality fiction with a global impact. We are very excited to enter a new format that is attractive and organic for our company."

Latin American Audio Drama Market Trends and Outlook
In recent years, the podcast market, including audio dramas, has been rapidly growing in Latin America. Particularly in Spanish-speaking countries, audio dramas with high-quality scripts, direction, and immersive sound design have emerged, garnering enthusiastic responses from listeners. The success of 'Caso 63' and 'Número Oculto' are prime examples of this trend, gaining international popularity with their solid storylines and suspenseful development, proving the potential of Latin American audio dramas.

Spotify is paying close attention to this growth potential and is actively working to secure Spanish-language audio drama content by strengthening collaborations with local production companies. The partnership with Cuarzo is part of this strategy, combining Cuarzo's experience in TV drama production with Spotify's powerful platform to provide listeners with a wider variety of high-quality audio dramas.

The Latin American audio drama market is expected to expand further in the future. With increasing smartphone penetration and a growing number of consumers enjoying audio content while commuting or during leisure time, the demand for audio dramas across various genres and themes is also on the rise. The success of 'DIAL', released through the collaboration between Spotify and Cuarzo, is expected to further accelerate the growth of the Latin American audio drama market.

Growing Anticipation for 'DIAL'
'DIAL', the new work by Charly Wasserman, who gained recognition for his unique storytelling in 'Número Oculto', is generating significant anticipation even before its release. The intriguing premise that transcends the boundaries of reality and the unknown, the suspenseful plot, and the passionate performances of Argentina's leading actors are expected to provide listeners with an unforgettable immersive experience. In particular, Spotify's rich sound effects support is anticipated to further enhance the thrilling atmosphere of 'DIAL'.

Spotify and Cuarzo's ambitious collaboration project, 'DIAL', is expected to inject new vitality into the Latin American audio drama market and serve as an important opportunity to showcase the appeal of Spanish-language audio content to listeners worldwide.
