Kia has developed a total of 22 recycled plastic and bio-based material technologies, replacing 69 components of the existing EV3 small electric SUV. For instance, the steering wheel and console are made from "apple skin," a material derived from apple peels, while discarded mushroom cultivation waste is used in the vehicle's wireless charging pad.

The vehicle's exterior, including the roof and garnishes, utilizes a composite material made from natural fibers and bio-polymers. Components such as the bumper, door trim, and frunk (front trunk) are made from recycled plastics recovered from end-of-life vehicles.
