CHEONAN, SOUTH KOREA - Cheonan City is inviting young innovators to participate in its ‘2025 Cheonan-Style Youth Challenge Project,’ offering substantial financial support to bring their community-focused ideas to life. The initiative aims to empower young residents and foster creative solutions to local challenges. Applications are open until April 11th.

The project will select five teams, each eligible to receive up to 20 million KRW in funding. This financial backing is intended to support the implementation of programs conceived and led by young people themselves.

Eligibility for the ‘Youth Challenge Project’ extends to individuals aged 18 to 39 who are officially registered residents of Cheonan City as of the project announcement date. Alternatively, teams comprising at least seven students currently enrolled in universities within Cheonan are also encouraged to apply.

This year’s challenge focuses on addressing key areas concerning Cheonan’s youth population. Proposed projects should fall under one of the following themes:

Support for Isolated and Reclusive Youth: Initiatives designed to engage and integrate young people who may be experiencing social isolation.
Promoting Youth Settlement in Cheonan: Projects aimed at encouraging young people to establish roots and build their futures within the city.
Enhancing Awareness of Cheonan Youth Policies: Creative strategies to effectively communicate and promote the various youth policies and resources available in Cheonan.
Interested applicants must submit a comprehensive application package, including a project application form, a detailed project proposal, and a clear budget execution plan. These documents should be sent electronically to the project manager at kdhjewel@korea.kr.

The selection process will involve two stages. First, a document screening will identify promising proposals. Subsequently, shortlisted teams will be invited to present their ideas in a PPT presentation. The final selection of the five winning teams is expected to be announced following the presentation stage.

Cheonan Mayor Park Sang-don emphasized the importance of youth engagement in shaping the city's future. "We look forward to receiving innovative ideas from the perspective of our young people," he stated. "Cheonan City is committed to continuously supporting the 도전 정신 (spirit of challenge) of our youth and encouraging their active participation in society."

Further details regarding the project, including the official announcement and application forms, can be found on the Cheonan City website. Inquiries can also be directed to the Youth Policy Division at 041-521-5506. This initiative represents a significant investment in Cheonan’s young generation and their potential to contribute to the city’s growth and vibrancy.
