Joint Training Held in 2025... Fostering Collaboration System and Enhancing Practitioners' Capabilities

Chungcheongbuk-do is stepping up cooperation among support organizations to ensure the successful settlement and healthy growth of multicultural families within the province. On July 11, the '2025 Chungbuk Multicultural Family Support Organizations Joint Training' was held at the Jincheon-gun Youth Training Center, providing a meaningful opportunity to solidify multicultural family support projects and enhance the professionalism of practitioners.

Opening a New Horizon for Multicultural Support Through Cooperation and Communication

The training was hosted by Chungcheongbuk-do and organized by the Chungbuk Family Center Council (Chairman Han Seok-soo). Approximately 250 individuals, including center directors and practitioners from 11 city/county family centers in the province, relevant public officials, and representatives from related organizations, gathered to foster active exchange and collaboration.

During the training, a commendation ceremony was held, where four individuals and two groups were honored with awards from the Governor of Chungcheongbuk-do for their dedication to supporting multicultural families. This served as an occasion to encourage those who have silently worked hard in the field and to request their continued efforts.

After lunch, a variety of programs were offered to refresh the tired minds and bodies of the attendees. The touching performance by 'Jamstick' received a great response, alleviating cultural thirst. In particular, Professor Kim Tae-kyung of Seowon University's special lecture on 'Dealing with Compassion Fatigue Syndrome' resonated deeply with the participants. The time spent understanding the emotional exhaustion and stress that practitioners may experience in supporting multicultural families and exploring practical ways to overcome them was highly praised as a significant contribution to strengthening practical capabilities.

In addition, participants explored the beautiful Chopyeongho Lake 둘레길 (Dulle-gil - circumambulation trail) to relieve work fatigue and strengthened their camaraderie through a 'Harmony Festival' that fostered collegiality. Through these programs, attendees not only had time to recharge but also solidified the network among multicultural family support organizations within the region.

Increasing Multicultural Population, Requiring Continuous and Systematic Support

Currently, there are a total of 41,916 members of multicultural households in Chungcheongbuk-do, accounting for approximately 2.5% of the province's total population (1,641,481). As diversity within the local community increasingly expands, the need for continuous and systematic support for multicultural families is growing even greater.

Chungcheongbuk-do expects this joint training to be a crucial opportunity to strengthen the collaboration system among multicultural family support organizations in the region and enhance their support capabilities. Beyond simply sharing annual plans, the focus was on in-depth discussions and information sharing based on actual cases to acquire know-how from each organization and explore customized support measures tailored to regional characteristics.

Chungcheongbuk-do plans to continue developing various policies and programs to help multicultural families settle stably in Korea, expanding essential support in daily life such as language education, employment assistance, children's education, and health management. Furthermore, the province aims to foster a culture where community members embrace multicultural families and coexist, through initiatives like multicultural awareness improvement campaigns. This will serve as a foundation to help multicultural families establish themselves as healthy members of Korean society and contribute to regional development.
