Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea - Chungcheongnam-do Province has solidified its commitment to fostering international exchange and empowering Korean women globally through a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the World Korean Women Presidents' Council (WKWC). The agreement, signed on May 12th at the provincial government office, outlines collaborative efforts, notably the joint hosting of the 10th World Korean Women Presidents' Convention.

This initiative stems from a prior meeting in March between Governor Kim Tae-heum and representatives of the WKWC. The MOU aims to bolster the capabilities of women's organizations within the province and strengthen the network among Korean women leaders both domestically and internationally, focusing on vital areas such as economic and cultural exchange.

The signing ceremony witnessed the participation of approximately 20 individuals, including Governor Kim and WKWC President Cho Kyu-ja. The proceedings included a detailed explanation of the agreement's key objectives followed by the official signing of the MOU.

Under the terms of the agreement, both Chungcheongnam-do Province and the WKWC have pledged to mutually support economic and cultural development initiatives that promote international exchange. A central component of this collaboration is the joint organization of the 10th World Korean Women Presidents' Convention, anticipated to be a significant platform for global Korean women leaders to connect, share insights, and explore collaborative opportunities.

Furthermore, the partnership extends to other meaningful endeavors. These include the donation of trees for the beautification project at Hongye Park, the provision of scholarships to nurture talented individuals within the province, and active participation in diverse international cultural exchange events. These initiatives underscore a shared commitment to community enrichment and the promotion of cross-cultural understanding.

During the ceremony, Governor Kim Tae-heum expressed his optimistic outlook for the collaboration. "We look forward to the successful hosting of the World Korean Women Presidents' Convention in October and to our continued cooperation in various fields, including international cultural exchange and scholarship programs," he stated. Highlighting the current economic climate, Governor Kim emphasized the crucial role of women in driving future growth. "With concerns about a prolonged period of low economic growth, Chungcheongnam-do will take the lead in empowering women's capabilities so that they can be at the forefront of leading the economy and propelling South Korea towards a new era of progress."

President Cho Kyu-ja echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of unity and collaboration among Korean women worldwide. She expressed her gratitude to Chungcheongnam-do Province for their proactive support and affirmed the WKWC's dedication to fostering stronger global networks and contributing to the advancement of both their communities abroad and the homeland.

The World Korean Women Presidents' Council is a prominent organization that serves as a global network for Korean women leaders in various fields. Its mission includes promoting the status and rights of Korean women, supporting their professional development, and facilitating international exchange and cooperation. The upcoming 10th convention is expected to draw numerous influential Korean women from across the globe, providing a valuable opportunity for Chungcheongnam-do to showcase its cultural richness and economic potential.

This partnership between Chungcheongnam-do Province and the WKWC signifies a concerted effort to leverage the potential of Korean women in driving international engagement and fostering mutual growth. By focusing on economic empowerment, cultural exchange, and educational support, this collaboration promises to yield significant benefits for both the province and the global Korean women community. The 10th World Korean Women Presidents' Convention in October is anticipated to be a landmark event, further solidifying these collaborative ties and paving the way for future joint initiatives.
