CJ OnStyle Launches Major Year-End Living Event: 'Jibchak Festa'

Seoul, South Korea — CJ OnStyle, a major South Korean retail company, has officially announced the launch of its annual flagship living curation event, the 'Jibchak Festa,' positioning it as the company's largest gathering of premium home goods for the year-end season. The event, which commenced on December 12th and runs through December 21st, aims to capitalize on the increasing consumer focus on home improvement and interior design.

The core concept driving the event is "Living Items That Stick to the Home," cleverly using the Korean word Jibchak, which implies a sense of deep attachment or obsession—a fitting term for items that become essential to one's living space. CJ OnStyle is deploying a comprehensive, multi-channel strategy that spans both its primary mobile and television platforms and a significant physical presence at one of South Korea's premier design exhibitions.

A Hybrid O2O Model Dominates Retail Strategy

The 'Jibchak Festa' is notable for its refined Online-to-Offline (O2O) model, a strategy it pioneered upon its debut last year. The event successfully merges the convenience of at-home content viewing with the immersive experience of a live exhibition.

The physical centerpiece of the 'Jibchak Festa' is its brand curation exhibit at the Coex 'Home & Table Deco Fair,' scheduled from December 18th to the 21st. The exhibit is structured around distinct lifestyle themes, designed to resonate with diverse consumer needs. These themes include the 'Rest House' (focusing on kitchen and bathroom), the 'Care House' (dedicated to children's rooms), the 'Live House,' and the 'Self-Identity House' (focused on dining). Within these curated environments, the company is showcasing top-tier products from both leading domestic and international brands, including Artisan, Philips, and Emons.

A defining feature of the physical exhibit is the seamless integration of the shopping experience. All displayed items are accompanied by a QR code, allowing visitors to instantly access the product listing on the CJ OnStyle application for immediate purchase. This mechanism eliminates friction between the desire sparked by a physical experience and the final online transaction, demonstrating an effective application of the O2O philosophy.

Reinforcing Content with Star-Powered Live Commerce

Complementing the physical exhibition, CJ OnStyle is significantly bolstering its live commerce content. On December 15th, the popular TV live broadcast 'Not Hateful Boss Sister' will feature celebrity host Lee Ji-hye, who will personally present and endorse a selection of her own highly-rated Jibchak items, such as premium Chrispy Baba and Steni pots.

Furthermore, on December 18th, the O2O connection will be brought full circle with a mobile live broadcast streamed directly from the Coex exhibition floor. This real-time coverage is intended to bring the energy and detail of the physical event to a wider online audience, engaging customers who are unable to attend in person and further driving mobile sales.

The event is underpinned by a robust suite of promotional incentives designed to encourage large-scale purchases. Shoppers making purchases totaling 100,000 KRW or more are eligible to receive a generous 10% of their payment amount back as reward points. Additionally, all customers who spend 10,000 KRW or more are entered into a grand prize draw with a total value of 10,000,000 KRW, making the 'Jibchak Festa' a major retail destination as the year draws to a close.
