Nike has officially unveiled the 2025 uniform for the South Korea Women's National Football Team, blending deep cultural heritage with cutting-edge sports technology. The new kits are set to make their on-pitch debut during a friendly match against Colombia on May 30th.
The home kit draws inspiration from the vibrant colors of the Korean national flag, featuring a dominant red base harmoniously accented with blue, black, and white. Intricate sleeve detailing incorporates graphic motifs inspired by traditional Korean elements such as bojagi (wrapping cloth), heritage stamps, and banknotes, reflecting a blend of tradition and modern expression.
For the away uniform, Nike opted for a classic blue, enhanced with modern sensibilities. Neon accents are strategically placed around the neckline, sleeves, and shorts, creating a dynamic contrast. The design also includes a subtle micro-dot treatment, a nod to a 90s national art movement and the team's iconic "Total 90" jersey, adding visual depth and completeness.
Designed with player movement as the paramount focus, the uniforms integrate Nike's top-tier innovations, including Dri-FIT ADV technology. This advanced fabric combines moisture-wicking properties with sophisticated engineering, utilizing the latest body-mapping technology, 4D data, and digital design tools. This ensures optimal agility, comfort, mobility, breathability, and ventilation for players throughout 90 minutes of intense play. The strategic use of alternating mesh and ribbed textures provides controlled elasticity and compression. Furthermore, 3D avatar simulations were employed to meticulously test and refine the fit.
Nike stated that the uniform is a result of a cohesive integration of design, sports science, and innovation, underscoring the brand's profound commitment to women's sports. Emphasizing sustainability, the kits feature trims and Nike Swooshes constructed from Nike Grind materials—recycled content from shoes and factory waste—along with refined manufacturing processes to minimize fabric waste.
The new collection will be available for purchase starting June 5th on Nike.com, the Nike App, and at select retail stores.
