Estimated 165,000 visitors from the 8th to the 11th, a 0.6% increase from last year
Domestic tourists projected to drop 1.1%, while foreign visitors rise 9.3%

The number of tourists visiting Jeju Island during the upcoming Hangul Day long weekend is projected to remain at a similar level to last year.

According to the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Tourism Association on the 7th, an estimated 165,000 tourists are expected to visit Jeju over the four-day period from the 8th to the 11th. This marks a 0.6% increase compared to the same period last year, which saw 164,000 visitors.

While the number of domestic tourists is expected to decline by 1.1% to 135,100, foreign visitors are projected to increase by 9.3% to 29,900.

Daily arrivals are expected to kick off with 48,000 visitors on the first day of the holiday (the 8th), followed by 45,000 on the 9th, 37,000 on the 10th, and 35,000 on the final day (the 11th).

During this period, flight seat capacity to and from Jeju will total 168,140 seats for domestic routes and 26,418 seats for international routes. Domestic seat capacity has decreased by 6.6% compared to last year, whereas international seat capacity has expanded by 20.1%.

Meanwhile, international cruise ships are scheduled to make 3 port calls in Jeju this year, down from 5 port calls last year. Consequently, the number of tourists arriving via cruise ships is projected to drop by 23.7% to 11,400.
