DAEJEON, South Korea - The special exhibition "The Immortal Painter Van Gogh," which opened at the Daejeon Museum of Art on March 25th, has garnered immense public interest, attracting over 10,000 visitors within its first five days.

This highly anticipated exhibition features a remarkable collection of 76 masterpieces by Vincent van Gogh, including oil paintings and drawings on loan from the esteemed Kröller-Müller Museum in the Netherlands. The exhibition offers a comprehensive overview of Van Gogh's artistic journey, allowing visitors to trace the evolution of his distinctive style and profound vision.

Crowds have consistently gathered in front of some of Van Gogh's most iconic works, such as Self-Portrait, The Good Samaritan, and The Potato Eaters. The rapid pace of visitors is considered exceptional compared to previous major exhibitions held at the museum, highlighting the enduring appeal and cultural significance of Van Gogh's art.

The Kröller-Müller Museum houses the second-largest collection of Van Gogh's works in the world, making this exhibition a rare opportunity for the public in Daejeon and surrounding areas to experience these masterpieces firsthand. The selection curated for this exhibition provides a rich representation of different periods and themes in Van Gogh's oeuvre, from his early explorations of peasant life to the vibrant landscapes and emotionally charged portraits of his later years.

The exhibition runs until June 22nd and is open daily without any closing days, welcoming visitors to the Daejeon Museum of Art's Exhibition Halls 1 through 4. Further details and information can be found on the Daejeon Museum of Art's official website.

Yoon Ee-hyang, Director of the Daejeon Museum of Art, expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming response from the public, stating, "We are deeply thankful for the immense interest and love that the citizens have shown for Van Gogh's works. We are committed to providing an even more pleasant and comfortable environment for everyone to enjoy high-quality exhibitions in the future."

This exhibition is expected to continue drawing significant crowds throughout its run, solidifying Daejeon's position as a hub for cultural experiences and offering a memorable encounter with the art of one of history's most influential painters.
