Bellabel Pharm, a company incubated by the Jeju Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, has successfully established itself in the Taiwanese market with its natural ingredient-based pet healthcare brand, 'From Halla,' securing an exclusive export contract worth approximately $300,000. This achievement is recognized as a significant turning point, demonstrating the global competitiveness of K-pet food and accelerating the overseas expansion of the domestic pet industry.

From Halla Captivates Taiwanese Market with Pure Jeju Ingredients

'From Halla,' Bellabel Pharm's flagship brand, has captivated Taiwanese consumers by offering high-quality, additive-free pet food based on ingredients sourced from Jeju's pristine environment. Following its participation in the Taiwan Pet Show last May, reorder requests for 'From Halla' products surged through social media and email. More than 20 Taiwanese distributors directly visited Jeju to express their interest in importing, showing enthusiastic attention. This explosive response indicates that 'From Halla's product quality and the trust in Jeju-produced ingredients resonated well in the Taiwanese market.

Amidst numerous inquiries, Bellabel Pharm achieved the remarkable feat of finally signing an exclusive export contract with Global Fortune Corporation, a company possessing both global logistics competitiveness and a strong network in the Taiwanese market. This goes beyond a simple product export; it's significant because it lays the foundation for 'From Halla' to stably establish itself and achieve continuous growth in the Taiwanese market.

Taiwan: A Growth Engine in the Asian Pet Market

Taiwan is considered one of the fastest-growing pet markets in Asia. According to Statista data, the Taiwanese pet market size already exceeded $1.2 billion in 2023 and is projected to grow at a high annual average rate of 7.3% until 2027. This is closely related to the spread of the 'pet family' culture in Taiwan. As the perception of pets not just as animals but as family members has become widespread, the demand for healthy and safe premium pet food has rapidly increased.

This market trend positively influenced 'From Halla's successful entry into Taiwan. 'From Halla's additive-free, high-quality pet food, based on natural Jeju ingredients, accurately met the needs of Taiwanese "pet families" who prefer premium products. Bellabel Pharm plans to leverage this growth in the Taiwanese market to further solidify its position in the global pet food market, beyond Asia.

Accelerating Overseas Market Penetration with Global Talent Acquisition

Prior to this Taiwanese export contract, Bellabel Pharm had already been actively pursuing global market expansion, starting with an export contract to Thailand last year. In particular, since 2024, the company has strengthened its global capabilities by recruiting professional executives from the UK, Australia, and the US. This year, they further secured in-depth understanding of local markets and buyer negotiation skills by hiring additional practical talent from Taiwan and Japan. The joining of these global talents played a decisive role in analyzing the characteristics of each local market and establishing customized strategies.

Moon Hyun-ah, CEO of Bellabel Pharm, expressed strong pride in this achievement, stating, "This export was achieved through our own efforts, from market pioneering to contract completion." She also revealed her ambition to "advance into the global market as a pet brand embodying our ancestors' philosophy of preventive medicine," emphasizing that 'From Halla' is more than just pet food; it's a brand that incorporates a preventive medical approach to pet health. Bellabel Pharm plans to further increase marketing investment to expand exports to major Asian countries, followed by Europe and North America.

Jeju Center for Creative Economy & Innovation Supports Bellabel Pharm's Growth
Behind Bellabel Pharm's successful global expansion was the strong support of the Jeju Center for Creative Economy & Innovation. The Jeju Center for Creative Economy & Innovation discovered Bellabel Pharm as an incubated company by supporting their Kakao Talk Store sales promotion in 2022. The pet healthcare brand 'From Halla,' developed by CEO Moon Hyun-ah, gained recognition for its technology and growth potential by obtaining venture company certification and green bio-company certification.

In particular, Bellabel Pharm possesses unique competitiveness as a bio company that develops pet healthcare products through research on Hallasan herbs and natural substances. The Jeju Center for Creative Economy & Innovation highly valued Bellabel Pharm's differentiated technology and potential, contributing to laying the groundwork for global market entry through continuous incubation support.

Bellabel Pharm's recent export contract to Taiwan will be recorded as an important case that elevates the status of K-pet food and presents a successful overseas expansion model for domestic startups. All eyes are on how Bellabel Pharm will write a new history in the global pet food market in the future, leveraging pure Jeju ingredients, unique technology, and proactive market penetration through global talent acquisition.
