HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam – Over fifty Vietnamese companies have cast their sights on new export horizons, participating in the prestigious FHA-Food & Beverage 2025 exhibition, which commenced in Singapore on April 8th. Amidst increasing global economic uncertainties and the looming impact of new U.S. tariff policies, this strong Vietnamese contingent is strategically leveraging the prominent Asian food and beverage trade show to cultivate fresh opportunities in the international marketplace.

Under the banner of the ‘Vietnam-Ho Chi Minh City Joint Pavilion,’ the participating enterprises are showcasing a diverse array of their flagship products. These include processed and dried agricultural goods, premium coffee, dairy products, refreshing fruit juices, staple rice, various noodles, and an assortment of flavourful spices, highlighting the breadth and quality of Vietnam’s food production sector.

The delegation’s presence at FHA-Food & Beverage 2025 underscores a proactive approach to mitigating potential setbacks caused by evolving global trade dynamics. The new U.S. tariff policies, while not detailed in the initial report, are understood to pose challenges to export-oriented businesses, necessitating a search for alternative and expanding markets.

A significant emphasis for the Vietnamese exhibitors is the adherence to rigorous international standards. Companies are keen to highlight their commitment to sustainable and environmentally conscious production and export practices, evidenced by certifications such as ISO, HALAL, and GLOBAL GAP. Prominent participants include industry giants like Vinamilk, renowned for its dairy products; Tân Nhất Hương, a key player in food flavourings and ingredients; Bình Tây Food, known for its diverse foodstuff offerings; Vianco, specializing in coffee and agricultural products; and Bidrico, a leading beverage manufacturer. Beyond product displays, these enterprises are actively engaging visitors through captivating coffee demonstrations and product tasting sessions, aiming to leave a lasting impression on potential buyers.

Ian Roberts, a member of the exhibition's organizing committee and Regional Vice President of Informa Markets Asia, expressed his admiration for the Vietnamese showcase. He lauded the diversity of the exhibited products and conveyed strong confidence in the potential of Vietnamese enterprises to expand their presence in the global market.

A dedicated business matching program, scheduled for April 9th and 10th, is poised to be a crucial element of the Vietnamese delegation's strategy. This initiative aims to foster direct connections between the participating companies and key buyers, importers, and distributors from Singapore and other international markets, facilitating potential partnerships and trade agreements.

The FHA-Food & Beverage 2025 exhibition, running until April 11th, has attracted over 1,500 exhibitors from more than 50 countries. The event serves as a vital platform for showcasing a wide spectrum of the food and beverage industry, including distributors, importers, manufacturers, and globally recognized brands. Organizers anticipate a substantial turnout, with expected visitor numbers exceeding 65,000.

Background:

FHA-Food & Beverage: Recognized as one of Asia’s largest and most influential food and beverage trade shows, FHA-Food & Beverage is a biennial event held in Singapore. It provides a crucial international business platform, highlighting the latest food trends, innovative products, and valuable networking opportunities with industry experts.
Vietnam’s Food Industry: Vietnam boasts a robust and steadily growing food industry, underpinned by its abundant agricultural production. Processed agricultural goods, seafood, and tropical fruits are key export commodities. Recent efforts have focused on enhancing product quality and securing international standard certifications to bolster global competitiveness.
U.S. Tariff Policies: While the specific details of the new U.S. tariff policies impacting Vietnamese exports were not provided in the initial report, such measures typically increase the cost of goods for importing countries, potentially reducing the price competitiveness and market access for affected exporting nations. Vietnam’s participation in FHA-Food & Beverage 2025 signals a strategic move to diversify export markets and strengthen product appeal in the face of these trade challenges.
Sustainable Production and International Standards: Certifications like ISO (International Organization for Standardization), HALAL (permissible under Islamic law), and GLOBAL GAP (Good Agricultural Practice) are increasingly vital for gaining access to international markets. They provide assurance regarding product safety, quality, and environmental sustainability. The emphasis placed by Vietnamese companies on obtaining these certifications and adopting eco-friendly production methods underscores their commitment to meeting global demands and enhancing their competitive edge.
This proactive engagement in a prominent international trade show like FHA-Food & Beverage 2025 demonstrates the resilience and adaptability of Vietnamese food enterprises as they navigate a complex and evolving global trade landscape. Their focus on quality, sustainability, and market diversification positions them for potential success in new and expanding markets.
