[Daejeon=Newsis] Reporter Kang Jung-gu | Ionis Co., Ltd. (CEO Jang Seok-woon) has stepped up to create a pleasant living environment for the underprivileged in the Daejeon area. On July 7, Ionis Co., Ltd. donated 12,000 plug-in air purifiers (worth approximately 300 million won) to Daejeon City through the Community Chest of Korea Daejeon Branch at the Daejeon City Hall. These donated air purifiers will be sequentially distributed to low-income households, including single seniors aged 65 and over, in the Daejeon area. This is expected to provide practical help to vulnerable groups who may suffer from humid and stuffy indoor air during the summer.

This donation holds significance beyond mere material support. Recently, as air pollution issues like fine dust have become more severe, the importance of indoor air quality management has been further highlighted. In particular, the elderly and low-income individuals often face economic difficulties in purchasing expensive air purifiers, and their living environments are also relatively vulnerable. Ionis Co., Ltd.'s plug-in air purifiers complement these weaknesses and have the advantage of being easy to install and manage, as they can be simply plugged into an outlet. This has been praised for increasing accessibility, as even seniors or those with physical difficulties can easily use them.

Daejeon Mayor Lee Jang-woo expressed deep gratitude at the donation ceremony, stating, "I deeply appreciate this warm sharing for creating a pleasant living environment for seniors." He added, "We will do our best to ensure that the donated air purifiers are delivered to those who truly need them." Mayor Lee's remarks suggest that this donation can create a synergy effect in conjunction with Daejeon City's welfare policies. As Daejeon City enters an aging society, it is strengthening welfare policies for vulnerable groups, including single seniors, and this air purifier support is interpreted as part of these efforts.

Ionis Co., Ltd.'s donation is regarded as an exemplary case of fulfilling corporate social responsibility (CSR). In an era where the importance of companies contributing to society beyond merely generating profits is emphasized, the activities of companies like Ionis Co., Ltd., which listen to the difficulties of local communities and provide practical help, have a positive impact on society as a whole. Through this donation, Ionis Co., Ltd. is expected to not only enhance its corporate image but also contribute to the spread of a culture of sharing.

Meanwhile, the Community Chest of Korea Daejeon Branch plans to closely cooperate with Daejeon City and related organizations for the efficient distribution and management of these donated items. It aims to ensure that the support is quickly delivered to households in need through transparent and fair distribution procedures. This donation is expected to be an important turning point in helping vulnerable groups in the Daejeon area live in a healthier and more pleasant environment. It is hoped that the warm interest and participation of businesses, local governments, and citizens will continue in the future, thereby improving the overall welfare level of society.
