Pilar, Argentina – The stage is set for a thrilling final in the prestigious República Argentina Cup as La Irenita and Las Rosas La Natividad emerged victorious from their respective semifinals held at the Argentine Association of Polo Headquarters in Pilar on Thursday, March 27th. This unique tournament, a highlight of Argentina's Autumn polo season, stands out as the only competition globally that welcomes teams with handicaps ranging from 0 to 40 goals, showcasing a wide spectrum of polo talent. This year's edition featured sixteen competitive teams vying for the coveted title.

The first semifinal witnessed an all-Cañuelas affair as Las Rosas La Natividad squared off against La Dolfina Oriental. Las Rosas La Natividad, sporting their green jerseys, asserted their dominance early in the match. By the halfway mark, they had established a commanding lead. Adding to La Dolfina Oriental's challenges, star player Pelon Stirling was forced to leave the field due to an unforeseen issue and was substituted by Cruz Heguy. Despite the change, Las Rosas La Natividad maintained their momentum, ultimately securing an impressive 14-7 victory and the first coveted spot in the República Argentina Cup final.

The subsequent semifinal featured La Irenita facing off against Estancia Grande. La Irenita began the match with a seven-goal advantage on handicap. While Estancia Grande mounted a spirited comeback, narrowing the gap to just one goal with only two minutes remaining in the final chukka, La Irenita demonstrated resilience. They rallied in the final moments, scoring crucial goals to clinch an 18-15 victory, securing their place in the final showdown.

As a result, the República Argentina Cup will be decided in a highly anticipated clash between Las Rosas La Natividad and La Irenita on Saturday, March 29th. Polo enthusiasts will have a double treat as Ellerstina and Trenque Lauquen are scheduled to compete for the Subsidiary La Nación Cup earlier in the day. Both high-stakes matches are set to take place at the iconic Palermo grounds in Buenos Aires, and admission to witness these thrilling displays of polo excellence will be free for all spectators. This promises to be a spectacular day of polo, showcasing some of the finest talent in Argentina.
