First Communication and Empathy Event for Young Generation, 'Youth After-Work Camp,' Successfully Concluded on July 4
Formed Consensus with About 100 Young People Through Candid Conversations and Performances in a Free Atmosphere

Daejeon City's 'Youth Switch (ON)' project, designed for substantive communication with the younger generation, has officially begun. The inaugural event, 'Youth After-Work Camp,' was successfully held on July 4 at Daejeon City Hall's South Gate Plaza. Starting with this, the city plans to sequentially implement a total of four youth-customized programs, including 'Youth TalkTalk' on the 17th, until the end of the year.

Daejeon City announced that it successfully concluded 'Youth After-Work Camp,' a communication event with a downtown camping concept targeting young office workers, on the afternoon of July 4. This was the first event of the 'Youth Switch (ON)' project, serving as an opportunity to directly gather policy demands through young people's voluntary participation and candid conversations.

The 'After-Work Camp' was hosted by Baek Bong-gi, Daejeon City's public relations ambassador, and about 100 young people participated, enjoying various programs like performances, games, and camping lunchboxes while communicating freely. In particular, Daejeon Mayor Lee Jang-woo's time eating with the young people and directly answering their realistic concerns regarding employment, housing, and marriage, fostered great empathy.

On-site, young people responded positively, saying, "It was good to be able to directly voice our opinions instead of policies being unilaterally delivered."

Mayor Lee Jang-woo stated, "I will make Daejeon a city that is the answer for young people in all areas, including dating, marriage, childbirth, and childcare," adding, "We will discover practical policies based on continuous communication so that young people can pursue their dreams in Daejeon."

Meanwhile, starting with this 'Youth After-Work Camp,' Daejeon City plans to operate a total of five communication programs on various topics closely related to the daily lives of young people until the end of the year. These include: ▲'Youth TalkTalk,' a lecture and communication event inviting youth influencer 'Tipp,' on July 17 ▲'Youth 끌 (Youth Attracts),' a youth meeting event, in September ▲'Futsal 10 PM,' a night futsal game, in October ▲A sports competition in November.
