Blind Traveler's Moving Experience in Mukho Goes Viral

MUKHO, Gangwon Province - Amid a series of complaints about unfriendly service and price gouging in popular tourist destinations like Sokcho, Yeosu, and Ulleungdo, a heartwarming story from Mukho in Gangwon Province is turning the tide. A blind YouTuber and anchor's solo journey to the port city has captivated the online community, showcasing the extraordinary kindness of its residents.

The traveler, who uses a guide dog, posted a video titled "Unbelievable Things Happened on My First Trip to Mukho," which quickly gained widespread attention. The video details a series of touching encounters that made his trip a truly healing experience.

Upon arriving at Mukho Station, the traveler found himself lost while looking for a restaurant. A local resident he met at a crosswalk personally guided him to his destination. At the restaurant, which had a long wait, the staff gave him a four-person table so his guide dog could rest comfortably. A waiter also took the time to explain the location of the food on his plate and even mixed it for him, demonstrating exceptional thoughtfulness.

The kindness didn't stop there. When he called a taxi, the driver showed no prejudice toward his guide dog, welcoming them both into the vehicle without hesitation. At a local cafe, a staff member went out of their way to bring a bowl of water for his guide dog, ensuring the animal was not thirsty.

"Traveling alone as a blind person usually comes with fear, anxiety, and a sense of dread," the traveler shared. "But I felt so much warmth in Mukho that it was a truly healing trip. I definitely want to come back."

The video has resonated deeply with viewers, generating a wave of positive comments. Many expressed a newfound interest in visiting Mukho after hearing his story. "I didn't know about Mukho, but I need to go now," one comment read. Another said, "After hearing so many stories about unfriendly tourist spots, this warms my heart." Local residents and those with ties to Mukho have also joined the conversation, expressing pride in their hometown. "I'm so proud of my hometown," one netizen wrote, sharing in the collective sense of pride and emotion. This story serves as a powerful reminder that genuine hospitality can create a lasting, positive impact on a traveler's journey.
