SEOUL – Singer and actress Nana (Im Jin-ah) has officially filed additional charges of false accusation against the individual who violently broke into her residence last year, signaling a "zero-tolerance" policy toward what her legal team calls malicious secondary victimization.
On January 23, Nana’s agency, Sublime, released a strongly worded statement confirming the legal action. The move follows a series of controversial claims made by the perpetrator, hereafter referred to as "A," during recent court proceedings.
A Violent Intrusion Turned Legal Battle
The incident dates back to November 16, 2025, when "A" allegedly broke into Nana’s home in Acheon-dong, Guri-si, armed with a weapon. According to the prosecution, "A" threatened both Nana and her mother and inflicted physical injuries while demanding money.
However, the legal proceedings took a sharp turn when "A" began to portray himself as the victim. During a trial on January 20, "A’s" legal representative denied the majority of the charges, claiming there was no intent to commit robbery and that "A" did not possess a weapon. Furthermore, "A" made the startling claim that he was "unilaterally beaten" by Nana and that the weapon involved actually belonged to the actress.
Police Dismiss Counter-Claims
The perpetrator had previously filed a counter-complaint against Nana for assault. However, Sublime revealed today that police recently concluded that investigation with a "non-indictment due to lack of evidence," effectively dismissing "A’s" claims as fabrication.
"The police’s decision to drop the charges against Nana clearly proves that the perpetrator’s claims are entirely false," Sublime stated. "We view the perpetrator’s actions—filing a counter-complaint without a shred of remorse and repeatedly changing his testimony—as a deliberate and malicious attempt to harm a public figure."
No Compromise for "Inhumane" Actions
The agency expressed "deep anger and lamentation" over the perpetrator's tactics, accusing him of exploiting Nana’s celebrity status to distort the truth.
"We cannot stand by while the perpetrator carries out inhumane secondary victimization that inflicts further pain on the victim. We will take every possible civil and criminal legal measure to ensure he is held strictly accountable for his heinous actions. There will be no settlement or compromise."
Nana, who gained international fame as a member of the K-pop group After School and has since established a successful career as a leading actress, is reportedly focusing on her safety and the recovery of her family while the legal battle continues.
The case has sparked significant public interest in South Korea, highlighting the vulnerabilities celebrities face regarding home security and the legal challenges of dealing with "reverse-victimization" tactics in high-profile criminal cases.
