Chungnam Eastern Child Protection Agency (Director Yoon Yeo-bok) and Chungnam Northern Child Protection Agency (Director Kim Mi-ae) announced on October 23, 2026, that they have signed a business agreement with the Chungnam Smart Rest Center (Director Choi Myung-ok) to "create a healthy digital usage environment for children and adolescents."

With the daily use of digital devices becoming widespread, issues surrounding digital overdependence among children and adolescents, along with the need for corresponding responses, are growing. In response, the three institutions have signed this agreement to combine child protection expertise with smartphone overdependence prevention and counseling expertise, aiming to cooperate in preventing and healing smartphone overdependence among children and adolescents, including those who have suffered abuse.

Under the agreement, the three organizations have agreed to cooperate on:

-Promoting the healthy growth and protecting the rights of children in the local community
-Providing advisory support for child abuse prevention and child welfare enhancement
-Supporting specialized personnel in collaborative fields
-Establishing a cooperative framework including network building, information sharing, and education

Director Yoon Yeo-bok of the Chungnam Eastern Child Protection Agency stated, "Helping children grow up healthy while being safely protected is our institution's most important role." He added, "As the impact of the digital environment on children's daily lives grows, we will cooperate with the Chungnam Smart Rest Center to closely examine the difficulties faced by children and their families and provide necessary help in a timely manner."
