GANGHWA ISLAND, SOUTH KOREA – Ganghwa-gun, a region renowned for its historical significance and burgeoning tourism, is set to host an inspiring lecture featuring the entrepreneurial success story of Lee Yong-cheol, the visionary behind the transformation of a former textile mill into the acclaimed cultural and tourist landmark, Joyang Bangjik. The event, scheduled for Tuesday, April 8th at 3:00 PM KST, will take place at the YuYu Base within the Ganghwa-gun Startup Job Center.

This special lecture is a key component of Ganghwa-gun's ‘Startup Seed Mentoring Program,’ specifically designed to ignite the entrepreneurial spirit among local youth and aspiring business owners. Lee Yong-cheol, whose innovative approach breathed new life into the abandoned Joyang Bangjik factory, turning it into a vibrant space encompassing art, culture, and commerce, will share his personal journey, offering invaluable insights and practical advice gleaned from his own startup experience.

Attendees will have the unique opportunity to hear firsthand about the challenges and triumphs encountered in establishing and growing a distinctive business like Joyang Bangjik. CEO Lee is expected to delve into various aspects of entrepreneurship, including ideation, business development, navigating local resources, and potentially, the unique considerations involved in revitalizing a historical site for contemporary purposes.

In an exceptional offer of mentorship, Mr. Lee has also committed to visiting the nascent business ventures of selected participants, providing personalized guidance and concrete recommendations tailored to their specific needs and aspirations. This hands-on mentoring opportunity promises to be particularly beneficial for those in the early stages of their entrepreneurial endeavors, offering practical direction and fostering a deeper understanding of real-world business operations.

The lecture is open to all individuals in Ganghwa-gun and beyond who are contemplating or actively pursuing startup ventures. Recognizing the limitations of physical space, the event will accommodate 30 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested individuals are encouraged to register promptly by contacting the Population Growth Division of the Ganghwa-gun Office at 032-930-3603.

To ensure broader accessibility, Ganghwa-gun will also be live-streaming the lecture on its official YouTube channel. This initiative will allow a wider audience to benefit from CEO Lee's insights in real-time. Furthermore, a recording of the session will be made available for later viewing, ensuring that those unable to attend the live broadcast can still access this valuable resource.

Ganghwa-gun Mayor Park Yong-cheol emphasized the significance of this event, stating, "We believe that Mr. Lee Yong-cheol's remarkable story of transforming Joyang Bangjik into a beloved landmark will serve as a powerful inspiration for our residents and aspiring entrepreneurs. This lecture offers a unique platform to learn from a successful local leader and to connect with others who share the ambition of creating their own ventures. By also broadcasting the event online, we aim to reach an even wider audience and foster a stronger culture of entrepreneurship within our community."

This initiative underscores Ganghwa-gun's commitment to fostering local entrepreneurship by providing access to mentorship and real-world success stories, thereby empowering the next generation of business leaders in the region.
