Haikou Meilan International Airport is accelerating its leap into an international complex hub encompassing shopping, culture, and leisure through a joint venture with Changi Airport.

Sino-Singapore (Hainan) Airport Commercial Management Co., officially launched last January, is a joint venture between Haikou Meilan International Airport (HNA Holdings) and Changi Airport. It holds the exclusive rights to operate the duty-free shops, food and beverage outlets, advertising, leisure facilities, and VIP services at Meilan International Airport, the gateway to Hainan Province, for the next 10 years.

Special Promotions for Boao Forum Participants

The joint venture is currently running a large-scale promotion targeting participants of the Boao Forum, offering a variety of exclusive shopping benefits and unique experiences. Forum attendees can receive a 15% discount on regular-priced items at participating stores by presenting their conference identification.

cdf Haikou Meilan Airport Duty Free Shop Offers Diverse Discounts

The cdf Haikou Meilan Airport Duty Free Shop is currently participating in the fifth cdf Watch Carnival, offering various discounts that can be combined with local government shopping vouchers. Additionally, passengers who complete check-in three hours before their flight departure will receive extra coupons.

Discounts on Local Specialty Products and '1+1' Events

Furthermore, selected local specialty products are offered with discounts of up to 22%, and some stores such as Hainan Gift and Time Bred are running '1+1' events on local products. Items included in the promotion are Hainan-themed souvenirs such as pandan-flavored products, dried tropical fruit snacks, and a special edition Jellycat plush toy collection.

Affordable Local Gastronomic Experiences

Special menus featuring representative local dishes such as Hainan Chicken Rice, Qingbuliang (coconut dessert), and Zao Ba Chu (fermented seafood hotpot) are also available from CNY 9.90 (approximately USD 1.35).

Terminal 2 Cultural Market Operation

On March 27th, a special cultural market will be held in Terminal 2, offering a variety of attractions including traditional performances, handicraft demonstrations, and tasting events for local brand products. Travelers can directly experience products from local brands such as Hainan Gift and Hainan Souvenir and enjoy discounts.

Enhanced Travel Services Provided

The VIP lounge offers Hainan specialty dishes and opportunities to shop for local products, and special benefits such as day rooms available from CNY 208 (approximately USD 29) for a 5-hour stay are also provided for transit passengers.

This large-scale promotion is a strategic initiative by Sino-Singapore (Hainan) Airport Commercial Management Co., aiming to develop Haikou Meilan International Airport into a world-class aviation commercial hub by integrating retail, tourism, and international services. It is expected to provide travelers with a richer and more diverse experience by introducing Changi Airport's innovative retail model.
