NewJeans Announces Contract Termination with ADOR, Citing Breach of Trust

Seoul, South Korea – NewJeans, one of K-pop's most popular girl groups, has announced their decision to terminate their exclusive contract with their agency, ADOR. The group made the announcement at an emergency press conference on [date], citing a breakdown of trust and the agency's inability to protect their interests.

The five members of NewJeans – Minji, Haerin, Danielle, Hanni, and Hyein – unanimously expressed their disappointment with ADOR's handling of the situation. They alleged that the agency had failed to fulfill its obligations to protect the group and had prioritized its own interests over the well-being of the members.

"The reason we are leaving ADOR is simple. They have a duty to protect NewJeans, but they have neither the will nor the ability to do so," said Hanni. "Staying here would be a waste of our time and cause us continued mental distress. There is absolutely no reason for us to remain with ADOR."

Minji echoed these sentiments, stating, "We cannot accept continuing an exclusive contract with ADOR where trust has been completely broken."

The group has emphasized that while they will be terminating their contract, they will continue to fulfill their existing schedules and commitments. They have also expressed their desire to retain the rights to the group name, NewJeans.

"We may not be able to use the name 'NewJeans' for a while, but we have no intention of giving up that name," said Hyein. "We will do everything we can to secure the rights to our name."

The members have also expressed their support for former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin, who was at the center of a dispute with HYBE Corporation earlier this year. "If possible, we would like to continue working with Min Hee-jin," said Minji.

The decision to terminate the contract comes after months of internal conflict within ADOR, which was sparked by a dispute between HYBE and Min Hee-jin. NewJeans has been caught in the crossfire, with the members expressing their support for Min Hee-jin on several occasions.

The group's departure from ADOR is expected to have a significant impact on the K-pop industry. NewJeans has quickly risen to stardom since their debut in 2022, and their departure from ADOR raises questions about the future of the group and the company.
