The Gangwon State government and the Gangwon Tourism Organization are hosting the 'Gangwon SEA Wellness Festa' on September 12 at the Anmok Beach area in Gangneung to celebrate the '2026 Gangwon Visit Year.'
This event is a Gangwon-style wellness tourism program designed to let participants experience daily rest and health by utilizing the sea and nature. It targets a total of about 1,000 participants through a combination of pre-registration programs and on-site experience programs.
The pre-registration programs consist of three offerings: therapy yoga, vegan cooking therapy, and beach yoga and meditation. Participants can experience gua sha and fascial yoga with professional instructors, make vegan food directly, and enjoy yoga and meditation against the backdrop of the beautiful Anmok Beach. At the site, various experiences that do not require prior registration are also prepared. Wellness experiences such as singing bowls, massage balls, and gua sha, making necklaces using beach seashells, making brushes and plant flower crowns using natural plants, and yoga profile photography are operated on an ongoing basis so people of all ages can enjoy them. Circular stages, experience booths, shade structures, and photo zones are established on the sandy beach near the Anmok Beach parking lot, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the sea and nature while experiencing wellness contents.
Choi Sung-hyun, CEO of the Gangwon Tourism Organization, stated that this event was prepared to provide a special wellness experience where people can rest their bodies and minds amidst Gangwon's beautiful sea and nature. He added that the organization will continue to actively foster stay-type wellness tourism combining Gangwon's unique natural environment and tourism contents.
