From Court to Content: French Tennis Star Océane Dodin Trades Racquet for OnlyFans, Eyes $5M in a Year

Shock Move Follows Breast Augmentation Surgery During Injury Hiatus

PARIS5 — In a move that has sent ripples through the professional tennis world, French tennis player Océane Dodin, 29, has joined the adult content subscription service OnlyFans, sparking widespread speculation that she could earn more in the next 12 months than her entire 14-year career on the court.

Dodin, once hailed as a rising star in French tennis, made her professional debut in 2011 and quickly climbed the ranks, reaching a career-high world No. 46 six years later. However, a series of injuries sidelined her for nine months, forcing her off the court and causing her ranking to plummet to a dismal 744th upon her return in September of this year.

A Mid-Career Transformation

During her mandated break from competition, Dodin chose to undergo a controversial procedure: breast augmentation surgery. This decision made her the first professional tennis player to publicly confirm having the cosmetic surgery while actively competing or taking a hiatus.

Dodin was unapologetic about her choice, sharing her rationale on social media and in interviews. "It's something I've wanted to do for a long time," she stated. "During the season, I always told myself, 'You can't do it.' But when I realized I couldn't do anything during the recovery period after surgery, I thought, 'I'll do what I want.' It's better to do it now than to finish my career at 40."

She expressed delight with the outcome and dismissed critics. "I am happy to have done what I thought of, and I don't regret it at all, so I don't care [about the reaction]," she said, adding she was surprised by the positive reception from her followers.

The OnlyFans Partnership and Financial Prospects

Following her return to the court and the public attention surrounding her transformation, Dodin announced a major sponsorship deal and her subscription platform debut. According to reports from The Sun and other international outlets, Dodin's career earnings from tennis totaled approximately £2.1 million (around $2.6 million USD, or 41 billion KRW) over 14 years.

Industry observers and foreign media now predict that her entry into the lucrative content creation sphere, specifically OnlyFans, could see her net "more money in 12 months" than her career total. Given the earnings potential seen in the adult content space for high-profile athletes, some analysts suggest Dodin could potentially earn up to $5 million USD (over 6.5 billion KRW) in her first year. This projected income is driven by subscriber fees, pay-per-view content, and the unique sponsorship opportunities that accompany her new venture.

Not the First on the Platform

While Dodin's move has grabbed headlines due to her recent surgery and status as a former top-50 player, she is not the first in the tennis community to embrace the platform. She follows in the footsteps of several other players who have established a presence on OnlyFans to capitalize on their fame and connect with fans in a different medium, including Chloe Paquet, Alexandre Müller, Nick Kyrgios, Pedro Martínez, and Sachia Vickery.

Dodin's decision underscores a growing trend among athletes seeking alternative revenue streams, particularly when injuries impact their on-court performance and traditional endorsement opportunities dry up. For the French star, this bold pivot represents a potential "life reversal," transitioning from the demanding, often financially unpredictable world of professional sports to the immediate and high-reward landscape of digital content creation. Her new chapter will be closely watched, both for its financial implications and its ongoing cultural impact on professional athletics.
