Chungcheongnam-do Province announced on the 27th that it has been recognized for its achievements externally, being selected as an Excellent Youth Policy Institution for two consecutive years in the ‘2025 Youth Policy Excellent Institution’ evaluation, organized by the Office for Government Policy Coordination.
The selection of Excellent Youth Policy Institutions involves a comprehensive analysis and evaluation of the effectiveness of youth policies across seven areas, including employment, education, housing, welfare, and culture, as well as the foundation for youth participation and the innovativeness of policies, targeting 17 metropolitan local governments nationwide.
In this evaluation, the province received excellent reviews for the performance of its flagship projects, expanded youth participation, and increased youth database (DB) registration rates.
To create "Chungnam where youth want to live," the province is pursuing over 100 diverse youth policy projects aimed at improving the quality of life for young people, including: △support for youth startup and job creation △housing lease deposit interest support for youth △smart farm youth startup education △financial education for young professionals △customized support for single-person households △national youth festival △and operation of the Chungcheongnam-do Youth Center.
Notably, the province significantly promoted youth participation in policy by raising the designation rate of youth participation committees within provincial committees to 88.3%, establishing the nation's highest level of youth participation infrastructure.
Furthermore, through its youth startup and job creation support projects, the province has generated tangible economic outcomes, including 28 new startups, expansion of 25 existing businesses, 64 new hires, and 16 intellectual property applications.
In addition, the province has strengthened policies for youth housing stability, newly establishing special provisions for childcare and newlywed couples in the housing lease deposit interest support project and easing income standards to substantially enhance housing stability.
In the agricultural sector, through the ‘Youth Smart Farm’ policy, the province aims to create 2.5 million pyeong of smart farms and foster 3,000 young farmers, supporting their entry into rural areas and stable settlement.
Beyond this, the province has also pushed for the supply of ‘Chungnam-style Urban Live-Together’ housing, successfully advocating to the central government for an increase in the special supply ratio, leading to a revision of related regulations and creating the nation's first case of applying ‘100% special supply.’
Nam Seong-yeon, the province's Youth Policy Officer, stated, "We will continue to discover and promote youth policies that can bring real change and satisfaction across the overall lives of young people, with the voices of youth as the starting point for our policies."
