Tiger Woods Meets with President Trump, PGA Tour and PIF Closer to Agreement

West Palm Beach, FL – Tiger Woods recently shared a round of golf with President Donald Trump at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, just days before his return to the PGA Tour. Woods will be competing in the Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines Golf Course this week, marking his first official tournament appearance since the British Open last year.

The golf outing also included Woods' son, Charlie Woods, and came as the PGA Tour and the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF) have made significant progress in their negotiations to unify men's professional golf.

Last week, PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan and player representative Adam Scott met with President Trump in Washington to discuss the ongoing negotiations. Following the meeting, the PGA Tour released a statement acknowledging President Trump's leadership and expressing optimism about reaching a final agreement with the PIF.

"Thanks to his leadership, we are one step closer to a final agreement, which will pave the way for the reintegration of men's professional golf," the PGA Tour stated.

This progress comes as Woods prepares to compete in the Genesis Invitational, a tournament he hosts. The event was moved from Riviera CC to Torrey Pines Golf Course due to a recent fire in the Palisades area of Los Angeles. Woods has a strong history at Torrey Pines, with eight victories including the 2008 US Open.

Woods' return to competition follows the recent death of his mother, Kultida Woods. President Trump expressed his condolences, saying, "Now she's gone to greener fairways! Kultida Woods was a wonderful woman whose impact on Tiger was immense, and she gave him strength and genius. Melania and I send our love and prayers to Tiger and his great family."

The ongoing negotiations between the PGA Tour and the PIF have been a major topic in the golf world, with many hoping for a resolution that will bring together the top players in the game. President Trump's involvement and support have been seen as a positive sign, and the recent progress suggests that a final agreement may be on the horizon.
