CHEONAN, SOUTH KOREA – The Cheonan Cultural Foundation, under the leadership of CEO Ahn Dong-soon, has officially commenced operations for its 'Dream Dance Company Cheonan' program, marking a significant step in providing accessible and high-quality dance art education to children and adolescents in the region. This initiative, a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service (KACES), and the Cheonan Cultural Foundation, underscores a commitment to fostering artistic development and cultural engagement among the youth.

The 'Dream Dance Company' is a nationwide project spearheaded by KACES, aiming to bridge the gap in arts education opportunities for young individuals, particularly those who may have limited access due to socioeconomic factors. By partnering with local cultural foundations like the one in Cheonan, the program ensures that these opportunities are delivered effectively at the community level. The curriculum is designed not only to impart technical dance skills but also to encourage self-expression, creativity, and collaboration among participants.

The Cheonan Cultural Foundation held a formal inauguration ceremony on May 22nd to welcome the 34 talented young individuals who were selected to be part of the inaugural cohort of the 'Dream Dance Company Cheonan.' These aspiring dancers will embark on a comprehensive educational journey that will primarily focus on two distinct yet complementary dance genres: the graceful and historically rich Korean traditional dance and the dynamic and expressive contemporary dance. The program is structured to provide a well-rounded dance education, exposing students to diverse movement vocabularies and artistic approaches. Classes are scheduled to run until November, offering consistent and in-depth training throughout the period.

Recognizing the importance of documenting the learning process and celebrating the achievements of the young dancers, the Cheonan Cultural Foundation will meticulously record all educational activities through photography and videography. This visual documentation will serve a dual purpose: to provide valuable material for a culminating performance or recital, allowing the students to showcase their progress and artistic growth, and to create an archive that can be utilized for future program development and promotional purposes.

Ahn Dong-soon, CEO of the Cheonan Cultural Foundation, expressed his enthusiasm for the program and its potential impact on the young participants. "Through the 'Dream Dance Company,' we aspire to create a nurturing environment where our young talents can explore their inner selves through movement," stated CEO Ahn. "We believe that the collaborative process of creating dance pieces will not only hone their artistic abilities but also foster crucial communication and teamwork skills. Witnessing their collective efforts culminate in a final performance will be a truly rewarding experience."

The selection of the Cheonan Cultural Foundation as a growth hub operating organization for the 'Dream Dance Company' for the third consecutive year, since 2023, highlights the foundation's growing prominence and established capacity in the realm of arts education. This consistent recognition underscores their commitment to providing quality arts programs and solidifies their role as a vital arts education platform within the Cheonan community and beyond.

For individuals seeking further information about the 'Dream Dance Company Cheonan' program, the Cheonan Cultural Foundation has provided a dedicated point of contact. Inquiries can be directed to the Festival Project Team at 041-900-7397. The foundation encourages interested parties to reach out for more details on the curriculum, schedule, and potential opportunities to support this enriching initiative for young artists.

The launch of the 'Dream Dance Company Cheonan' signifies a vibrant addition to the cultural landscape of Cheonan, promising to cultivate the artistic potential of its young residents and contribute to a more culturally enriched community.
