Harbin, China – The South Korean women's curling team has won the gold medal at the 2025 Harbin Asian Winter Games, defeating China 7-2 in the final. This is Korea's first gold medal in women's curling at the Asian Winter Games since 2007.
The team, consisting of Kim Eun-ji (skip), Kim Min-ji (third), Kim Su-ji (second), Seol Ye-eun (lead), and Seol Ye-ji (fifth), was undefeated throughout the tournament, winning all 10 of their matches. They were considered the favorites to win the gold medal, and they lived up to the expectations.
In the final against China, Korea took an early lead and never looked back. Kim Min-ji made a crucial double takeout shot in the second end to give Korea a 3-0 lead. China scored two points in the third end to close the gap, but Korea answered back with a point in the fourth end to take a 4-2 lead into the halftime break.
Korea then stole a point in the sixth end and two points in the seventh end to secure the victory. The team was ecstatic to win the gold medal, and they celebrated with their coaches and fans.
"We are so happy to win the gold medal," said Kim Eun-ji, the skip of the team. "We worked hard for this, and it feels great to see our hard work pay off."
