Buenos Aires, Argentina – In a vibrant celebration of International Women's Day, the Teatro Colón's esteemed Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra will perform a free, open-air concert on Saturday, March 8th, at 8:30 PM. The event will take place at the picturesque Niní Marshall Amphitheatre in Puerto Madero, offering a blend of world-class music and cultural enrichment to the public.

Under the baton of its newly appointed principal conductor, Zoe Zeniodi, the orchestra will present a captivating program featuring timeless masterpieces by Ludwig van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms, and Antonín Dvořák. Zeniodi's appointment marks a historic milestone as she becomes the first woman to hold this prestigious position in the orchestra's history.

The Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra, established in 1946, holds the distinction of being the first exclusively symphonic orchestra in the city. Renowned for its artistic excellence, the orchestra has received numerous accolades, including two Konex Platinum Awards (1999 and 2009) for being the best Argentine orchestra of the decade. Additionally, it has been honored with the "Best Argentine Symphony Orchestra" Award by the Association of Musical Critics of Argentina in 2012, 2014, and 2016. In 2019, the Konex Foundation recognized its contributions with a Diploma of Merit.

This special concert not only celebrates the achievements of women in music but also provides an opportunity for the community to experience the beauty and power of classical music in a relaxed, outdoor setting. The Niní Marshall Amphitheatre, located at Av. Calabria and Rosario Vera Peñaloza, offers a scenic backdrop for this cultural event.

Attendees can expect an evening of exceptional musical performances, showcasing the talent and artistry of the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra and its pioneering conductor, Zoe Zeniodi. This event underscores the Teatro Colón's commitment to bringing world-class music to the people of Buenos Aires and celebrating the contributions of women in the arts.
