SEOUL, South Korea — The six-member K-pop girl group DreamNote is set to disband following the termination of their exclusive contracts, marking the end of their seven-year journey in the music industry. The group's agency, Idea Music Entertainment Korea (Idea Music), made the announcement on October 22, confirming that the contracts will officially conclude on November 7, 2025.

DreamNote, consisting of members Sumin, Eunjo, Lara, Boni, U.I, and Miso, debuted on November 7, 2018. Over the past six years, the all-Korean girl group has been known for delivering bright and positive energy through their music and performances, cultivating a devoted fanbase known as "Page." Their debut came with the single Dreamlike, followed by other tracks like "Hakuna Matata," "Wish," "Ghost," "Lemonade," and their last single, "Joyful Green," released in October of the previous year. The group initially debuted as an eight-member ensemble but reorganized into its current six-member lineup after two members, Habin and Hanbyeol, departed in 2019.

Idea Music's official statement, posted on the group's social media, confirmed the collective decision, stating, "DreamNote and Idea Music have agreed to terminate the exclusive contract as of November 7, 2025, after sufficient discussion based on mutual trust and respect."

The agency expressed profound gratitude to the fans, acknowledging the crucial role their support played throughout the group's career. "The love and encouragement you, Page, sent throughout this journey have always been a great source of strength," the statement read.

While directly announcing the contract expiration, the company’s message clearly signaled the group's dissolution, as they wished the members well in their future individual pursuits. "We are deeply thankful for the passion and effort the members showed during the time they spent with us, and we sincerely support the new beginning they will pursue in their respective paths," the statement continued. "Though they may now walk at a slightly different pace, on different paths, we hope the time we spent together remains a warm memory for everyone."

In a poignant final gesture to their fans, DreamNote is preparing for one last official meeting. The group has arranged a special fan meeting scheduled for November 9, just two days after their contracts expire. This event will serve as the group's farewell, allowing the members to share a meaningful and heartfelt moment with Page before officially going their separate ways.

Idea Music emphasized the importance of this final gathering, stating, "To leave behind a short but heartfelt moment, the DreamNote members have prepared a meaningful gathering to share with Page. We hope the members' sincerity is conveyed during that time."

The disbandment news arrives as DreamNote approaches the traditional "seven-year curse" milestone often cited for K-pop groups. Although the members' contracts are concluding just shy of the full seven-year mark, their disbandment highlights the challenges of longevity in the highly competitive K-pop industry.

As the members—many of whom joined the team through casting—prepare to transition into the next phase of their lives and careers, fans are left to reflect on the group's legacy and anticipate the future ventures of Sumin, Eunjo, Lara, Boni, U.I, and Miso. The official end of DreamNote's group activities on November 7 will mark the closing of a chapter, yet the agency urged fans to continue offering their warm support for the members' new beginnings.
