Sejong Special Self-Governing City (Mayor Cho Sang-ho) successfully wrapped up the "2026 Chungcheongbuk-do & Chungcheong Region Naeil-Ieum Job Fair," which was held at Cheongju OSCO on the 16th.
This job fair was co-hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, four municipal and provincial governments in the Chungcheong region including Sejong City, and the Chungbuk Regional Small and Medium Venture Startup Administration to resolve manpower shortages for companies in the Chungcheong region and expand employment opportunities for job seekers.
The event gained even more significance as the four cities and provinces in the Chungcheong region held their first-ever regional-level job fair, linked with the Ministry of Employment and Labor's super-regional employment cooperation project, the "Chungcheong Region Growth Industry Naeil-Ieum Project."
A total of 249 companies (114 on-site and 135 online) from key industrial sectors in the Chungcheong region, such as bio-health, future mobility, and semiconductors, participated in the event, drawing 2,032 job seekers to the venue.
At the on-site recruitment pavilion, active hiring activities took place with a total of 1,150 interviews conducted between corporate human resources managers and job seekers.
In particular, a total of 15 companies from the Sejong region—including 8 in the bio-health sector and 7 in the future mobility sector—participated, carrying out 198 on-site interviews.
Additionally, during the recruitment briefing sessions, HR representatives from major companies such as Korea United Pharm and Coavis directly introduced recruitment procedures and job duties, resolving various questions from job seekers.
Along with this, the employment support pavilion operated various programs including resume and cover letter consulting, AI mock interviews, and interview coaching. Meanwhile, the policy promotion pavilions of the four Chungcheong regional governments provided regional employment policies and job support information.
Sejong City plans to continuously monitor the recruitment status of participating companies and manage the outcomes that lead to actual employment even after the fair.
Ryu Je-il, Director-General of Economic Industry Bureau, stated, "This fair served as an opportunity for Chungcheong regional companies and job seekers to meet in one place and explore hiring and employment prospects. We will cooperate with related organizations to ensure that on-site interviews lead to actual employment and strive to provide job support tailored to the manpower demands of local enterprises."
