Shinsegae Simon Transforms Premium Outlets into a Magical "Winter Wonderland"

SEOUL — Shinsegae Simon is captivating year-end shoppers by transforming its nationwide Premium Outlets into immersive "Winter Wonderlands." Under the seasonal theme "Magical Frozen Village," the company is leveraging its exotic European-style architecture to provide a unique holiday experience that goes beyond traditional retail.

Paju: A Frozen Hub for Families

The Paju Premium Outlet stands as the centerpiece of this year's festivities. Running through February 1, 2025, the "Magical Frozen Village" features a Central Square illuminated by over 3,000 galaxy-themed lights. To embrace the chilly season, the outlet has introduced a signature outdoor artificial ice rink. This child-only facility operates from Friday to Sunday and on public holidays (12:00 PM – 8:00 PM), offering free equipment rentals and access.

Visitors can also enjoy the "Time Snow" event, where artificial snow falls four times daily from the clock tower. The site is further decorated with works by renowned sculptor Byeon Dae-yong, with an ice sculpture exhibition scheduled for January. A dedicated F&B pop-up zone features winter staples such as hot coffee at the Kanu Tap Bar and traditional snacks like bungeoppang (fish-shaped pastry) and hotteok (sweet pancakes).

Regional Highlights: From Busan to Yeoju

In the southern region, the Busan Premium Outlet has installed a towering 10-meter Christmas tree in its North Plaza. During weekends, the adjacent street hosts a Christmas Market selling ornaments, music boxes, and gift items. Similar to Paju, Busan also features a "White Christmas" event with scheduled snow displays.

Meanwhile, the Yeoju and Siheung locations are focusing on a "Classic Christmas" aesthetic. Central gardens and walkways are adorned with extensive light installations and large-scale trees, creating a romantic atmosphere reminiscent of a European holiday village.

Strategic Shopping Benefits

To complement the festive atmosphere, Shinsegae Simon is hosting the "Magical Holiday Festa" across all locations until December 28. This event offers significant discounts and promotional benefits across various international and domestic brands, aimed at attracting gift-shoppers and domestic tourists.

"We have utilized the unique strengths of our outdoor shopping centers to provide differentiated content that can only be experienced at Shinsegae Premium Outlets," said a representative from Shinsegae Simon. "We hope visitors enjoy a romantic year-end filled with both visual delight and shopping benefits."

The combination of experiential entertainment—such as ice skating and snow events—and traditional holiday markets marks a strategic move by Shinsegae Simon to transform its outlets from simple shopping destinations into comprehensive cultural landmarks.
