Conducted fair pricing and kindness campaign for accommodations around Gwangalli Beach from 14:00 to 16:00 on October 21 in preparation for the Busan Fireworks Festival.

City, districts, and accommodation associations shared current status of accommodation rate stabilization and encouraged practices of fair pricing, kindness, and clean service.

Busan City (Mayor Jeon Jae-soo) announced yesterday (the 21st) that it conducted the "Busan Fireworks Festival Accommodation Facility Fair Pricing & Kindness Campaign" in collaboration with related organizations around Gwangalli Beach from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

This campaign was organized to proactively prevent excessive price hikes and inconveniences associated with accommodation use caused by surging lodging demand during the Busan Fireworks Festival period, establish a fair accommodation trading order, and create an environment where tourists can visit Busan with peace of mind.

The campaign was attended by related organizations including the city, the Busan Tourism Association, the Busan Metropolitan City Branch of the Korea Lodging Association, and Suyeong-gu, Haeundae-gu, and Nam-gu.

On this day, the participating organizations first gathered at the Suyeong-gu Living Culture Center to share the current status of each organization's efforts to stabilize accommodation rates and discuss cooperative measures to prevent tourist inconveniences.

The city shared response plans to stabilize tourist accommodation facility rates, the current status of general lodging business guidance and inspections, and response plans for illegal accommodation-related activities.

The Busan Tourism Association and the Busan Metropolitan City Branch of the Korea Lodging Association discussed cooperation measures for the lodging industry to voluntarily comply with fair prices and practice friendly services, while Suyeong-gu, Haeundae-gu, and Nam-gu shared their current progress in stabilizing rates and preventing tourist inconveniences at lodging businesses within their jurisdictions.

Following this, an on-site campaign was conducted targeting lodging businesses around Gwangalli Beach. Informational materials were distributed to raise awareness in the lodging industry about the importance of setting fair and reasonable prices and establishing a transparent trading order, while encouraging the practice of friendly and clean services.

The guide materials contained practical guidelines for establishing a fair lodging trade order and improving tourist services, such as refraining from excessive lodging fee hikes and setting reasonable prices, providing advance notice of lodging fees and usage conditions, preventing unilateral reservation cancellations and unfair additional fee demands, providing friendly customer response, and maintaining room cleanliness and hygiene.

In addition, using a self-developed lodging rate monitoring program, the city plans to analyze the rate trends of lodging facilities near the fireworks festival venue and review incentives such as promoting "fair lodging businesses" that participate in voluntary price stabilization.

This program was developed to analyze the level of lodging fee increases during the festival period by comparing lodging rates on the day of the fireworks festival with Saturdays before and after.

Based on the monitoring results, the city plans to discover fair lodging businesses that maintain appropriate rates and review incentive provisions such as promotional support for those businesses.

Through this campaign, the city plans to strengthen cooperation with related organizations and the lodging industry, induce voluntary participation in price stabilization by the industry, and foster a healthy lodging culture where tourists and the lodging industry can thrive together.

Na Yoon-bin, Director-General of the Tourism Contents Industry Bureau of Busan City, stated, "As the Busan Fireworks Festival is one of Busan's representative tourism events visited by many domestic and foreign tourists, it is crucial to secure tourists' trust through fair lodging rates and friendly service. We will strive to ensure that tourists can enjoy Busan with peace of mind by having the lodging industry and related organizations actively participate in operating reasonable prices and practicing friendly and clean services."
