Blue Bottle Coffee, a global specialty coffee brand that started as a small coffee cart in Oakland, California, USA, has announced the official opening of its first Southeast Asian cafe at LUMINE SINGAPORE in Raffles City, Singapore, on April 3, 2025. This opening will bring Blue Bottle Coffee's unique coffee experience to Singapore's vibrant cafe culture.
Following the launch of a retail store and exhibition space in Singapore in August 2024, this cafe opening is a significant step in Blue Bottle Coffee's full-scale expansion into major Asian markets. This means that Blue Bottle Coffee will be available in Singapore, following major Asian cities such as Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, and China. The 135-square-meter cafe with 42 seats will be open daily from 8 AM to 10 PM, and is designed to reflect Blue Bottle Coffee's philosophy of emphasizing craftsmanship, hospitality, and community, going beyond a simple coffee space.
Blue Bottle Coffee's Unique Experience
The new cafe will offer Blue Bottle Coffee's signature single-origin and espresso-based beverages. A variety of seasonal coffee selections, including hand-drip pour-over and espresso options meticulously crafted using beans carefully selected from sustainable farms around the world, will be available.
Located within LUMINE SINGAPORE, the cafe will provide a welcoming atmosphere for guests to connect and interact through coffee, further strengthening its relationship with the region's growing community of specialty coffee enthusiasts.
Commitment to Craftsmanship and Community
Rooted in the belief that great coffee is best enjoyed in a warm space, the new cafe demonstrates Blue Bottle Coffee's commitment to creating meaningful experiences through precision and attention to detail.
Kester Whittaker, Chief Growth Officer and General Manager of Asia at Blue Bottle Coffee, said, "This cafe opening marks an exciting chapter for Blue Bottle Coffee in Southeast Asia. We look forward to sharing this journey with a new community beyond providing coffee, and creating a space where you can experience not only great coffee but also the warmth and hospitality that defines us. Singapore's rich coffee culture is the perfect home for our first Southeast Asian cafe, and we are delighted to welcome guests to the world of specialty coffee."
Blue Bottle Coffee has long been inspired by a thoughtful approach to Asian coffee culture, starting with its first overseas expansion to Japan about 10 years ago. This cafe continues this journey by providing a space for Singapore's discerning coffee lovers to take their time and savor a carefully crafted cup of coffee.
Teruyuki Omote, President and CEO of LUMINE Co., Ltd., said, "LUMINE believes in creating meaningful experiences that bring people together, and our partnership with Blue Bottle Coffee reflects this common vision. Through this cafe, we hope to provide a space where guests can enjoy not only exceptional coffee but also the thoughtful design and warm hospitality that define both of our brands."
Blue Bottle Coffee's entry into Singapore demonstrates its continued expansion in Asia and its commitment to thoughtful, high-quality coffee experiences.
