SUWON, Gyeonggi Province – In a significant move to cement its status as South Korea’s artificial intelligence hub, the Gyeonggi Business & Science Accelerator (GBSA) announced on March 28, 2026, the official appointment of over 130 specialized instructors for the "2026 Gyeonggi SW Future Fill" program.

The appointment ceremony and subsequent workshop, held on March 27 at the GBSA Gyeonggi Hall, marked the beginning of a massive educational initiative aimed at providing AI and Software (SW) training to approximately 30,000 youth across the province. The event saw the attendance of key figures, including the Director of the Gyeonggi Provincial AI Bureau and executive directors from the GBSA, signaling the province’s strong administrative commitment to digital transformation.

Bridging the Digital Divide: North and South
A standout feature of this year’s program is its focus on regional equity. The GBSA emphasized that it will expand its reach to areas like Yeoncheon and Pocheon in Northern Gyeonggi, where access to high-tech information has historically lagged behind the southern regions. By deploying these 130 experts to underserved areas, the province aims to bridge the "digital divide" and ensure that a child's postal code does not determine their level of technological literacy.

Mastering Generative AI
Reflecting the rapid evolution of the industry, the 2026 curriculum has been heavily revamped to prioritize Generative AI. The appointment ceremony wasn't just a formal handover of certificates; it transitioned into an intensive two-part workshop designed to sharpen the instructors' practical skills.

During the first session, instructors reviewed successful case studies and "AI/SW Education Trends," focusing on how to adapt to the shifting pedagogical landscape. The second session was a deep dive into hands-on technical training. Under the theme "Creating My Own AI Portfolio," instructors practiced planning and implementing AI-based content that they can immediately bring into the classroom.

"AI has evolved from a core technology of future industries into a fundamental literacy skill for the next generation," said Yu Tae-il, Executive Director of the Corporate Growth Division at GBSA. "We are fully committed to supporting our instructors so they can provide creative and effective education to our students."

A Collaborative Ecosystem for Talent
The program is part of a broader national initiative co-sponsored by the Ministry of Science and ICT and Gyeonggi Province. Beyond mere coding, the 2026 curriculum includes collaborative project-based learning. Instructors participated in simulations to solve potential classroom challenges and developed customized content tailored to different student levels—from basic digital literacy to advanced AI model implementation.

As Gyeonggi Province pushes forward with its "AI Gyeonggi" vision, these 130 instructors will serve as the frontline ambassadors of innovation. By the end of 2026, the province expects a new wave of "digital natives" who are not just consumers of AI, but creators capable of navigating the complex ethics and technicalities of a machine-learning world.
