Sejong Dementia Ansim Center Hosts 'Dementia Family Healing Program' at National Sejong Arboretum

The Sejong City Dementia Ansim Center held a "Dementia Family Healing Program" at the National Sejong Arboretum on the 22nd, with 34 dementia patients and their family members participating.

This program was organized as part of the center’s family support initiative to help alleviate the caregiving burdens of families and caregivers who look after dementia patients, offering them a chance to escape daily routines and recharge in nature.

Participants enjoyed the autumn scenery of the National Sejong Arboretum and experienced a variety of forest healing activities.

They spent an enjoyable time smelling various herbs in the Sensory Garden and making their own scented keyrings.

Following this, they took an electric bus tour around the arboretum, appreciating diverse plants and beautiful landscapes accompanied by professional docent explanations.

In addition, they enjoyed comfortable relaxation by briefly letting go of daily tensions through flower tea tasting and aroma meditation.

Moon Bo-won, head of the Health Administration Division at the Sejong City Public Health Center, said, "We hope this was a time for family members caring for dementia patients to step away from daily burdens and regain a bit of peace of mind." He added, "Moving forward, we will continue to prepare various programs so that families can share the difficulties they experience in the caregiving process and find mental rest."
