CLIO's 'Essential Lip Cheek Tab,' launched in Japan, is receiving an enthusiastic response from local consumers, leading to a rapid expansion of its offline store presence.
The 'Essential Lip Cheek Tab,' a product that can be used for both lips and cheeks, has been gaining popularity since its launch as a new product for the 2024 F/W season, ranking first in sales in the cheek category on Qoo10 Japan. In December of last year, a makeup video featuring the product by beauty influencer SON AMI, who has 600,000 followers on TikTok, garnered 2.5 million views, triggering a rapid viral effect.
The product completed its full color launch in approximately 700 stores, including LOFT and PLAZA, Japan's largest variety shops, in the fourth quarter of last year. Buoyed by the initial explosive response from consumers, the company is set to enter major local drugstores in Japan starting this April, following numerous store entry proposals from various distributors.
In the first quarter of this year alone, an additional order of 240,000 units was placed, bringing the total supply to 340,000 units so far. To meet the rapidly increasing demand, the company is focusing all its efforts on securing inventory, with plans to launch new colors in May. CLIO, which established its Japanese subsidiary 'CLIO JAPAN' in June 2024, is rapidly stabilizing its organization and accelerating its drive to expand its market share.
