HARBIN, China – Na-hyun Lee, a rising star in South Korean speed skating, has made a remarkable debut at the Asian Winter Games in Harbin. The 20-year-old secured a bronze medal in the women's 1000m event, adding to her impressive haul of two golds (100m and team sprint) and one silver (500m).

Lee's performance in the 1000m was particularly noteworthy, as she clocked a time of 1 minute 16.39 seconds, just 0.54 seconds behind the gold medalist, Han Mei of China. This marked Lee's first international multi-event competition, and she exceeded all expectations by medaling in every event she entered.

"I still can't believe I've won so many medals," Lee said after the 1000m race. "I've always been stronger in the 500m, so I've been working hard to improve my 1000m. I'm proud that it paid off today."

Lee's success has drawn comparisons to veteran speed skater Lee Seung-hoon, who won a silver medal in the team sprint, setting a new record for the most Asian Games medals won by a Korean athlete (9). With four medals in her first Asian Games, Na-hyun Lee has the potential to surpass this record in the future.

"If I have the opportunity, I would love to break the record," Lee said. "I'm going to keep working hard."

Lee's achievements have also overshadowed her compatriot Kim Min-sun, who was considered the top prospect in women's speed skating. Kim finished fourth in the 1000m, just 0.35 seconds behind Lee. Despite their rivalry in individual events, Lee and Kim have been supportive of each other, especially in the team sprint where they won gold together.

"We know that we need to focus on our own races in individual events," Lee said. "I think we've been able to achieve good results because we've been focusing on ourselves."

With the Asian Games behind her, Lee has now set her sights on the Olympics. "After achieving good results in the Asian Games, I realized that my next goal should be the Olympic podium," Lee said. "I'm fortunate that things went well here, so my focus has naturally shifted to the Olympics."

Lee's journey in speed skating is just beginning, and her performance at the Asian Games has shown that she has the potential to achieve great things. With her talent, dedication, and unwavering focus, she is sure to be a force to be reckoned with in the years to come.
