MAMA, leading the global spread of K-pop, debuts in the United States

[GLOBAL ECONOMIC TIMES]  Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the 2024 MAMA Awards will be held for the first time at the Dolby Theater in LA, USA, promoting the status of K-pop to the world. CJ ENM announced its ambitions for entering the US market along with its spectacular lineup at the press premiere on the 29th.

The United States is the world's largest music market, and MAMA entered the American market after continuously taking on new challenges for 25 years. CP Yoon Shin-hye said, “The United States is the stage that K-pop artists dream of,” and added, “MAMA would like to contribute to the global spread of K-pop.”

MAMA US features various artists such as Anders Pack, Park Jin-young, Cat's Eye, Rise, and Tours, while MAMA JAPAN includes Boy Next Door, Enhyphen, Ive, Lee Young-ji, MI, Flave, Treasure, Tomorrow by Together, Aespa, BB, Representative K-pop artists such as G-Dragon, (G)I-DLE, Miyao, Zero Base One, and INI will be present.

In particular, G-Dragon, who is appearing on the MAMA stage for the first time in 9 years, is raising fans' expectations ahead of his comeback. CP Yoon was confident, “G-Dragon has always presented iconic stages at MAMA, and he will deliver an unforgettable stage this time as well.”

Park Bo-gum will serve as the host for MAMA US, continuing from last year, and Tae-ri Kim from the tvN drama 'Jungnyeon' will serve as the host for MAMA JAPAN, making the awards ceremony even more enriching.

MAMA is more than just an awards ceremony, it is a festival that has led the growth of K-pop. It is expected that entering the United States will further raise the status of K-pop and solidify K-pop's position in the global music market.
