Chungnam Tourism Promotion Booth Operational at Korea's Largest Tourism and Festival Expo

Chungcheongnam-do Province announced its participation in the ‘K-Festival & Travel Show 2025,’ held at KINTEX in Ilsan for four days from May 15th to 18th. The province is operating a Chungnam tourism promotion booth to highlight the region's attractions and cultural richness.

This event stands as the largest tourism and festival exhibition in South Korea, drawing participation from 150 organizations, groups, and companies nationwide, who are operating over 300 booths.

Chungcheongnam-do has joined forces with Nonsan and Dangjin cities to establish a joint promotion booth. The booth prominently features the province's flagship festivals, including the Baekje Cultural Festival, Boryeong Mud Festival, Geumsan Ginseng Festival, Cheonan K-Culture Expo, and Hansan Mosi (Ramie Fabric) Cultural Festival, aiming to captivate attendees with the vibrant cultural heritage of the region.

Visitors to the Chungnam booth can immerse themselves in the scenic beauty of Nonsan's key tourist spots through a virtual reality (VR) experience. Additionally, the booth offers hands-on activities such as sampling Dangjin's traditional rice wine, Dogyunju, and crafting Baekje-era golden crowns, providing a sensory experience of Chungnam's distinctive flavors and artistic traditions.

Furthermore, Chungcheongnam-do is showcasing unique local content from its various cities and counties. This includes the spectacular Sapkkyo Lake Drone Light Show from Dangjin and the renowned Ganggyeong Fermented Seafood Festival from Nonsan, promising to draw the attention and footsteps of a diverse audience.

A representative from the provincial government stated, "We have prepared experiential content to ensure that visitors can grasp the allure of Chungnam's representative festivals at a glance. Throughout the event, we will actively promote Chungnam's tourism resources to attract even more tourists in line with the '2025-2026 Visit Chungnam Year.'"

Expanding on Chungnam's Attractions and Festivals:

Beyond the highlighted festivals, Chungcheongnam-do boasts a wealth of attractions that appeal to a wide range of interests. History enthusiasts can explore the UNESCO World Heritage sites in Gongju and Buyeo, the ancient capitals of the Baekje Kingdom, offering a deep dive into Korea's rich past. Nature lovers can discover the picturesque Taean Coast National Park with its stunning beaches, diverse marine life, and scenic hiking trails. The Gayasan National Park offers majestic mountain landscapes and historic temples, providing a serene escape.

The Boryeong Mud Festival, a globally recognized event, attracts millions of visitors each summer for its unique mud-based activities believed to have therapeutic benefits and offering a fun-filled experience. The Geumsan Ginseng Festival celebrates the region's high-quality ginseng, offering insights into its cultivation and health benefits. The Hansan Mosi Cultural Festival showcases the intricate process of creating traditional ramie fabric, a testament to the region's craftsmanship. The Cheonan K-Culture Expo is a more recent addition, highlighting various aspects of Korean pop culture and arts. The Baekje Cultural Festival vividly recreates the history and culture of the Baekje Kingdom through performances, exhibitions, and interactive experiences.

Dangjin, known for its coastal beauty and agricultural produce, offers attractions like Sapgyoho Lake Tourist Resort and the serene Anmyeondo Island, connected by a scenic bridge. Nonsan is steeped in history, featuring sites like the Donam Seowon Confucian Academy and the birthplace of General Gye Baek. The Ganggyeong Fermented Seafood Festival is a culinary highlight, showcasing the region's diverse and flavorful seafood products.

The province's efforts at the K-Festival & Travel Show are strategically aligned with the "2025-2026 Visit Chungnam Year" initiative, aiming to significantly boost tourism to the region. By presenting a diverse array of experiences, from cultural immersion and natural beauty to unique festivals and culinary delights, Chungcheongnam-do seeks to establish itself as a must-visit destination for both domestic and international travelers. The interactive elements at the promotion booth, such as the VR experience and hands-on activities, are designed to create a lasting impression and encourage visitors to explore the region firsthand. The inclusion of local specialties like Dangjin's Dogyunju further adds a distinct flavor to the Chungnam experience being showcased.

With its strategic location, rich history, vibrant culture, and diverse natural landscapes, Chungcheongnam-do is poised to captivate visitors and achieve its goals for the "Visit Chungnam Year," promising a memorable and enriching experience for all who venture to explore its hidden gems and celebrated traditions.
