With the 2025 professional baseball season kicking off on March 22nd, the retail industry is deep in a heated marketing race to capture the hearts and wallets of baseball fans. The enthusiasm surrounding baseball is palpable, with last year's attendance breaking the 10 million mark for the first time ever and this year's exhibition games seeing consistent sell-out crowds. This surge in popularity has retailers eager to capitalize on fans' spending habits and boost their bottom lines.

Online Malls Launch Official Team Brand Shops and Limited-Edition Merchandise
Lotte On: Launched the 'Lotte Giants Official Brand Shop' in partnership with the Lotte Giants baseball team on March 5th.
The brand shop has seen a significant influx of new customers, with first-time buyers making up approximately 65% of sales.
Notably, 20-30 year old female consumers account for over 55% of purchases, highlighting the strong interest from young female fans.
Lotte On offers a wide range of products, including uniforms, cheering accessories, and lifestyle goods, to cater to diverse fan needs.
SSG.com: Has been actively engaging in baseball-themed marketing since acquiring the SSG Landers baseball team in 2021, with events like 'Landers Day'.

Food and Fashion Industries Join the Fray

The stickers feature designs inspired by KBO team mascots and players, with a total of 215 different variations.
This collectible sticker trend, called 'Ddibbusil' in Korea, are expected to be very popular.
