Incheon, South Korea – Incheon City has announced that it will continue to provide child care services throughout the Lunar New Year holiday, from January 28th to 30th, to support working parents and single-parent households.
The child care service, which is designed to assist families with children aged 12 and under, offers in-home care provided by certified caregivers. This initiative aims to address the challenges faced by dual-income families and single parents who may struggle to find childcare during holidays and other extended breaks.
To alleviate financial burdens, the city will waive the 50% holiday surcharge for all eligible families during the Lunar New Year period. Additionally, the South Korean government has recently expanded the eligibility criteria for child care subsidies, now covering households with incomes up to 200% of the national median income. This expansion is expected to benefit a larger number of families and provide more comprehensive support.
