SEOUL, Republic of Korea – The Overseas Koreans Cooperation Center (Director Kim Young-geun) has officially launched its 2nd cohort of public relations supporters, 'KrossOveR,' to strengthen communication between the overseas Korean community and the Republic of Korea. The inauguration ceremony, held on May 31 at Shilla Stay Seocho, was attended by 40 selected supporters from 11 countries, signaling the start of their active engagement over the next seven months.
KrossOveR: Fostering Korean Identity Through the Convergence of Overseas Koreans and Korea
'KrossOveR' is a compound word blending 'Korea' and 'crossover,' embodying the Center's vision of fostering Korean identity through the convergence of overseas Koreans and the people of the Republic of Korea. The emphasized uppercase 'KOR' denotes the abbreviation for the Republic of Korea, highlighting the connection between overseas Koreans and their homeland.
The 2nd cohort of supporters was rigorously selected through document review and interviews, ensuring a balanced representation of overseas Koreans residing abroad and domestic citizens. For approximately seven months, until December 2025, they will focus on creating and widely disseminating social media content about the Overseas Koreans Cooperation Center's various projects and issues related to overseas Koreans.
Customized Training for Successful Public Relations Activities

Held from May 30 to June 1 in the Seoul metropolitan area, including Seoul and Incheon, the training covered diverse topics such as △Understanding Overseas Koreans Education △Korea Emigration History Museum Tour △Digital Content Special Lecture △Networking Team Building.
The Understanding Overseas Koreans Education focused on deepening supporters' overall understanding of the history, culture, and current status of overseas Koreans. This aimed not merely to convey information but to help them grasp the diverse facets of the overseas Korean community in depth, enabling them to produce more empathetic content.
The Korea Emigration History Museum Tour provided an opportunity to experience the history of Korean emigration firsthand and understand the life trajectories of overseas Koreans. This served as an occasion for deeper reflection on the identity of overseas Koreans through the past hardships, adversities, and successes of immigrants.
The Digital Content Special Lecture contributed to improving supporters' practical content creation skills. By sharing the latest digital trends and know-how for effective social media content planning and production, supporters learned how to convey the Overseas Koreans Cooperation Center's message to the public in a more attractive and efficient manner.
Networking Team Building played a crucial role in strengthening the bond among supporters and building cooperative relationships. Through the process of diverse supporters forming teams, sharing ideas, and collaborating, synergy was created, enabling closer cooperation in future public relations activities. Additionally, during content creation planning sessions, supporters materialized their unique public relations strategies.
